Are you really telling me that one of the driving forces behind the Porto success the past years hasn't proved more than an upcomming player from Lille?

Tell me the truth, when did you start watching him? Last season he was a trickypony without a brain and was one of the main reasons of Porto's failure. This year, yes, he has improved his game and become more rational on the pitch. With an excellent squad, Porto did great both in league (Portugal, still not the great stages) and in EL. He was one of their key players, no doubts about it.

Hazard, in the other hand, with a worse squad than Lyon or Marseille, for example, was Lille's key player alongside Gervinho in the championship road. Both Hulk and Hazard aren't still starters for their NTs (eventhough Brazil has better players). Probably Hazard will be the best Ligue 1 player of the season, too.

Hazard born in 1991 and Hulk in 1986.

IMO, both are still unproven players, but Hazard is much more younger than the brazilian and has also a better margin to improve.

Quite mediocre and cheap I guess but could do better than our competitors for 3rd spot. Most of the alleged 100 M euros budget will probably be used to get us out of the financial red and to pay for our redeem costs(Aquilani, Sorensen, Quag, Matri).

In this mediocre Serie A, this can get us to 3rd spot.

Hazard has been a key player for Lille (together with Gervinho) for last two seasons, and he is just 19 (where was Hulk 5 years ago as 19 year old?), they are winning the french league, a quite better league then Portuguese one, and its largely due to the quality of their key players, like Hazard. I dont care if you think Hulk is better (even if I would disagree), but in what way is he more proven? He emerged as a player in last two seasons, same as Hazard, had pretty average season last season, and an excellent one this season, producing plenty of goals (34, unlike last seasons meagre 10). How has he proven himself that much?

I agree that the French league is stronger than the Portuguese. Hulk has had a good run at Porto for the past few years, hence he has been wanted by big clubs since he appeared on the scene. Porto are about to win the EL, beating Villareal 7-2 (?) on agg - we're talking about the number four team from Spain here ! Absolutely demolishing one of the top teams from Russia and winning the home league without a single loss and only three draws. Of course what I am about to say is based on speculation, but I have a distinct feeling that Porto, if they stay as they are or even bolster the squad a bit, will make a run for the CL trophy next year.

TBH Moggi only said that Krasic is a great player but not a champion. I don't see how that's so much against Krasic.

krasic is an excellent player when used well, but he's not someone to carry the teamµ

Spend more than 30 M euros on Hulk? No thanks.

At this point, I would only spend 30 M for a player like Aguero or Tevez, Hulk is not as good as them.

He is not overrated, he is excellent. An excellent crosser, has an incredible shot, can hit free kicks, can dribble and can track back. He would be perfect on our left flank.

He is better than Bastos(and has the same age).

What about give the merits to the team? Or is Hulk surrounded of average players and a Del Neri type coach?

I agree with your last sentence, but until that happens or Hulk changes to a better championship, he'll be still considered an unproven player.

I'd like that more than anything else, but without European Football next season it is going to be virtually impossible to secure players like those, sadly . I mean, two of those has secured CL football next season already, and Aguero can pretty much put on a blind and pick a random note from the table with a CL club name on it. Why should they pick us? Finishing 7th with an incompetent board and unstable situation.

No offence, but he is playing in Sampdoria at the age of 28. If he was that good a bigger club would have snuffed him up.
