anybody know Anders Randrup? Apparently Paratici got some guys scouting him. Plays for Brøndby IF, 22, RB.
3rd option after Beck/Lichtsteiner.
At the age of 20 Anders Randrup is already a regular starter in the Brøndby first team. The attacking minded right back is a crucial player in the team’s challenge for the Superligaen title this season and is considered the best player in his position in Denmark.
Randrup is showing from game to game on a consistent basis that he is likely to be the future right sided defender for the Danish national team.
Anders Randrup was born in 1988 in Copenhagen and has been playing for Brøndby his entire career. The 5.9ft defender was promoted to the first team squad at the age of 18 and made his debut in the spring of 2007 and immediately impressed.
His dedication made him a fans favorite, and coach Tom Køhlert rates Randrup as Brøndby's biggest talent since Daniel Agger. Randrup is a modern defender, he is versatile and can play anywhere in defence. He is right footed, so his natural position is at right back, but he has been used both in the centre of the defence and at left back.
The youngster is known for his strength in one on one situations, his awareness and his regular forays forward make him a crucial component of Brondby’s attacking game. He has great natural fitness, which shows over 90 minutes, where he is able to embark on long runs to help in attack even in injury time.
Those that know Anders Randrup claim he has a very calm personality and is dedicated on the training ground. Although he is still young, Randrup is a true professional, who knows what it takes to be a football player.
His only weakness is in the air. His heading is not great and he must improve that in order to become a complete modern defender and advance to a better league.
Randrup has spent two major spells on the sidelines due to injury, the first came in October 2007 to his right ankle and in January of this year he missed 10 weeks due to a knee injury. Neither injury is expected to have a long term impact on his career.
His international breakthrough came in the spring of 2008, when he made his debut for Denmark, playing in a friendly, but the injury in January 2009 kept him out of playing more recently for the national team.
Although he may not have full international experience, Randrup played for all the youth teams of Denmark; he made 36 overall appearances from Under-17 level to Under-21 and scored once.
Randrup’s best performance this season came in the recent Landspokal match with Aalborg in which he claimed two goals in an entertaining 3-3 draw. He has also provided an assist in the league this season, the video above showcases Randrup’s attacking qualities.
