Seems unlikely, but Ferguson has signed some pretty mediocre central midfielders in the past.
I really just dont see what Marchisio offers what United already does not have there. He isn't much better than anything in the middle of that park. Fergie will splash the cash on a CM this summer though without a doubt. Speaking of United, how long before we are linked with that crock Hargreaves?

He'd be an upgrade on Gibson, but that's about it.

I wouldn't be so sure.

I expect them to sign one, but it won't nessarily be for a lot of cash.

Lol don't rip me too hard, it's love for Buffon that made me toss that in. A while back I heard some English guy say on tv that Buffon is the most overrated GK in the world today, and recently I've been hearing about Buffon moving to what, Roma? I'd rather he contend for hardware at United and get global publicity than end up at Roma. Though I hear that was more about his agent and that Roma guy being old friends and not business. Shoulda just stuck to Marchisio...

I dunno, I love some of guys beyond just our football needs, I hated to see Trez go but with his wife's bio and all I was glad for him to go where he wanted. If Buffon wanted it I'd let him. If Del Piero wished to leave I'd let him.

Last great CMs Man U had was Roy Keane and an ontop Scholes (not current one). Fergie, for all the great things he has done, has not developed any great CMs since.

Scholes is probably their best CM right now; its pretty incredible what they manage to win with that middle. Chalk it up to good coaching.

I don't really think they'll ask for him, much less pay 20 million. Just hoping.

They might go for Sneijder though. He'd be perfect for them

Marchisio would be better. He works hard, something that fergie likes in his CM's. Idk how I feel about marchi leaving. But if he does im buying a man utd marchisio

If he went to United I'd get a Juve Marchisio. Let em know where he's from. I still have to get a Chiellini first though. I haven't bought a shirt since Nedved. Who here has the most shirts? And how many? I have three but one of them is Baggio.

 Such a loyal player supporter you are :p

If Juventus acquire Montolivo or Pirlo, I might consider buying their jerseys and torching them

I do realize a midfield pairing of Marchisio and Melo might not quite work, certainly far from being the best thing out there, but I'd rather give them a chance to play together, then invest heavily in a CM (unless it's someone reliable and promising like Sahin). We need to address other areas of the team first.
