You know the answer to that question Max. He isn't defensive enough for the Italian league, he isn't young and Italian, probably won't fit into Del Neri's formation, that type of thing

Rakitic surprised me too, despite knowing very well that he's a good player. I didn't expect him to become an instrumental player in Sevilla so quickly.
For 1.5 million € signing a 22 year old who is better (and already more experienced at the top level) than more than half of your players was a must.
