He wasn't half as good as we thought. He was the reason we switched to a 4-3-1-2 without having proper players for that > missed out on CL > prestige loss > financial loss > signing the likes of Pepe, Toni and Barzagli.

You tell me how a midfield of Marchisio - Tiago, wingers with Marchionni and an almost retired Nedved, fullbacks as Grygera and Molinaro ended up being second in the league while last years squad couldn't even win a game.

nope it wasn't ..ranieri is a clown, like all the current italian coaches. Firing dd and selling henry were our biggest mistakes
- he made Chiellini play CB

- he made us play properly defensively

- he was the last one who at least used Giovinco.

- our FWs scored regularly with him.

- CL was not an issue, hell we were challenging for the title.

Firing him wasn't a mistake, it needed to happen. Replacing him with Ferrara was the big mistake. Ranieri had built a team, now it was up to a WC coach to take us to the next level.

I'd love Sahin in Juve but if we are signing Aquilani I think we should have other priorities. And M'Vila would be to replace Melo, yes. He would cost us a sum close to nothing since Melo would be sold out.

I'd rather have Sahin than Aqua, that's for sure, but there aren't much more names around that I would pick instead of Aquilani. If Liverpool don't make us a discount then I'd rather pay ~20M for Sahin than 16M for Aquilani, but I think we'll have a discount.
Sahin has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for 6MEuro if a big club comes for him, now the question remains if we are seen as a big club of course.

Juventus plan spending spree

Juventus will be ambitious in their spending this summer even if they don't qualify for the Champions League, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri currently lie seventh in Serie A with five games of the season remaining and it appears unlikely that they will finish in fourth spot.

Sources close to Juventus claim Andrea Agnelli will make the same amount of funds available for transfers, but fears the club is losing its immediate appeal.

Even so, the Bianconeri hope to tie up a deal for 17-year-old Brazilian starlet Gabriel Appelt in the next 48 hours while talks for Palermo striker Abel Hernandez are embryonic.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta will be in Milan for the 2011 Scouting Forum today.

It's said that he will talk with his colleagues about Riccardo Montolivo and Andrea Pirlo.

Juventus have also reportedly been encouraged that a bid of between €10m and €12m will be enough to make Alberto Aquilani's move from Liverpool permanent.
