Exactly.

It's just silly and that type of football is terrible. I get a headache when I see people say how they can't defend. And we're not talking about CBs but freakin' wingers! Even fullbacks are being trashed cause they can't defend great, but yet Real plays with Marcelo for example.
Its unbelievable, they want the whole midfield to track back. Its not enough having a back 4 and two defensive midfielders, they also want their wingers to track back. So basically, that only leaves our two strikers.

And even when they screw up marks or don't intercept a pass around the box, like Amauri did a couple times, they call for the head of their strikers.

It's insanity.

Ekdal...shown commendable composure and consistency in a solid bologna outfit this term. Would make a decent understudy to Melo (meaning we could sell Mr invisible, Marchisio)
Marrone -needs more experience elsewhere before getting anywhere near our first team squad.
Pasquato -with Dp dying, and christian seeming to find some consistency, i hope that either we get him back for the summer, at least, to see what he can do, or loan him to a serie A club where he will be played to his strengths. Creativity, good pace and wonderful flair...they are skills we sorely lack. I would rather see pasquato on the left wing, as an wide forward than martinez...
Immobile- hasn't had the best of season, but i doubt he has suddenly lost the natural goalscoring talent he showed at youth level...another loan/co ownership.
Fausto Rossi - really haven't been following him
Pinsoglio - good enough for the italy u21 squad, so can't be too bad. Loan to a serie b club next season.
Yago Falque - has impressed for the valncia B team, is likely happier in a reserve squad in spain than kicking his heels in our primavera...may as well sell, although as with pasquato, potentialy he has what we lack, what giovinco has in spades...pace, flair and creativity. Needs to show it at a higher level though...likely sold/

What does that mean?
its means that Del Piero is on his way out...whether people can accept it or not. And we need to start grooming others to take his place. Quite simple really...not many, actually, as far as i know, not any, top clubs have a 36 year old as their most creative force in the final third...wel, there is giggsy i suppose, but he is much better physical shape than DP, definitely quicker, definitely stronger...who else??? my point is, if we have a player wwith wicked free kick skills, very creative, lots of flair, and he is doing very well in Modena, then we should keep an eye on him, at least, and try to have him blooded in, at serie A level, because it would be much cheaper and easier to find a new DP and a DP understudy, from within...although, I assume Quags will be the main SS next season.

as for the retarded folk, who assumed i was suggesting Ekdal is better than MArchisio, perhaps i need to explain what i meant...marchisio doesn't seem to be developing, improving, even in terms of consistency. I cannot see him earning anything other than a squad role in most of the teams above us in the table. True enough he has been played out of position, but not as removed from his normal role as some people assume. More often than not bunching up to make a 3 in midfield, even in a warped del neri 4-4-2...zero change in his game over these last two seasons. he has good technique, a decent engine, but is far more regularly invisible than visible. ekdal is young, seems comfortable on the ball, able to tackle, useful passing, still very young. I can understand an extreme reaction to what i suggested if you see marchisio as a definite starter, as a pillar of whatever juve we are to build...but i dont see him as that. potentially...yes...but what the hell is needed for him to show consistency??? perhaps just a decent manager. i can see thats possible...but as i see him as a squad player presently, i like the idea of getting 10-15m for him, bringing ekdal in as the understudy to melo who will provide the core of our midfield with aquilani...

Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttt? Why don't you put Krasic into the LCM position for an entire season and see what happens to him?

Lo-Pan is right about that IMO. Marchisio's position has been pretty much on the left of a three man midfield at times this season.

"at times"...so when he is playing out of position but "at times" when he temporarily moves back into the center for something in a game he is expected to instantly shine before going back to the left and out of position again?

Talk about avoiding the point.

In some matches (not many this season), he has played as one of two central midfielders.

In others he has played a narrow role to the left of two central midfielders. This was most noticeable when Quagliarella was in the team and would move out to the left. I liked the look of the De Ceglie - Marchisio - Quagliarella left side. Unfortunately, DC and Quag didn't stay fit for very long for this to develop.

Other times he has played as a more conventional left sided midfielder in a 4-4-2. This is when he has most of his "invisible" games. He'll "do a job" there as they say in England but it doesn't suit him.

I've been defending Marchisio all day btw. I said something about him playing out of position earlier if you want to find it.

You don't actually suggest to replace DP with Pasquato, right?

I don't need to find the post. The majority of the games this season he has been on the left and I don't think it's fair to criticize him for invisible performances. It wasn't like Amauri whom never did his job (score) and was just taking up a roster space. With Marchisio, he still, as you said, does his job. He tracks back, contains, gets stuck in, good passing and winning the ball back, scores some really nice goals. He does his job and I am not sure exactly why he gets criticized other than being invisible. Maybe some who don't like him can elaborate? He doesn't make any costly mistakes and the ones he does make are no different than other players mistakes and all players make them.

I don't see anything about his play that screams SELL at all.
