Yeah, our wingers need to just basically be a body in defense, just another obstacle for the other team to have to work around at least. As Andy said, they don't need to be Chiellini's in defense and Nedved's in attack but at least have some kind of positional sense and whereabouts when defending, whether zonal or man marking. It really isn't that hard when you are a winger as you aren't necessarily binded to the back for as a unit, rather stick to a man outwide and let the defenders and DM's worry about the rest.
It really isn't that hard to defend and I never understood the argument about Giovinco lacking in that area. All you bloody have to do is have some kind of positional sense and be able to slow down a play when necessary. It isn't freaking rocket science.
Too many here what the best of both worlds for a winger.
