He is not a MORON! Your team will get raped due to the lack of defensive depth. Why in the world are you benching Marchisio? A front line of Quag and Matri might be OK for a much weaker Serie A, but they would get bullied, out muscled, and shut down in continental games.

Melo is a good player, but deploying him as the only DM in that formation with no support from midfield is suicidal. He is a nut case and will get his fair share of yellow and red cards.

I have seen both Quag and Matri, and while they are physically robust, they will struggle against German and English defenses in particular.

Fifa 2011 and FM? Really? Football is very different in the real world my friend. I really don't think your formation would work, and would leave us greatly exposed at the back, especially on counter attacks. Have you seen Melo's playing style? He might be a beast, but he is insane, and will get his fair share of yellow and red cards. We definitely need someone next to him in midfield to support him and shield the defense.

Melo will receive yellow and red cards no matter where u will place him it's not different, new era managers is almost like real football

Assuming we would get the players you suggest, I think this would be better:

Although I doubt this are the players that will bring us titles or Coppa's, it might be good enough to get us to CL

I agree with what you're saying, but we shouldn't be restricted as we are in funds for players.
One thing the owners have to realise is that they will continue wasting money each year on the club, until they spend some serious bucks to get this team back to where it belongs.
