He's a link between middle and attack and it was a reason Diego left - as he didn't fit the system. I somehow see them playing the same role as Pastore is not really a SS.
I think he'd be great to have, but I don't see our stubborn system letting him play unless Del Neri and co. changed their mind about roles.
Pastore would play as an SS, at least that's what Del Neri said. He can play there surely. It wouldn't make practical sense to trade away Diego and then deploy Pastore behind a lone striker, but that's the way some people work.
And Mourinho is right, why would he want to coach us? Whats the enticement? He is a douche, but not for this comment, what do we have to interest a top coach who have better options?

Probably not. But what we can offer is a challenge, one of taking a club back to the top of world football with limited resources. If Mourinho goes on to win everything with Real, he will have won pretty much everything in all the top leagues and have millions in bonuses to boot. If he has the sense of competitiveness that I think he does, he'd want to test himself at a club like Juventus, or maybe Liverpool, or a club that has had little success on the European stage. After Real, I think it's either clubs like this or he'll be off to try out the international game.
Juventus probably isn't in his future, but ya never know.
