Marotta is limited to what he can do because of the money he is given. In the summer he signed us players like Krasic, Bonucci, Quagliarella and Aquilani when we weren't even in CL.

If we are granted this big amount of money, which is suppose to be bigger than last summer's. I expect Marotta to do some pretty big things with it CL or not.
Just like last summers 80M :D
~86M, actually.

Claiming that we signed mediocre Italian players because we were limited in capital is a lie. 86M Euros in total.

Nothing about our first team is average apart from our fullbacks and coach. If we improve those I think we could be the best team in Italy tbh.

That's not what I said.

People keep claiming that we didn't sign better players because we did not have the capital to do so, saying Marotta was limited in what he had to work with like he had zero capital whatsoever. But that's simply not true. Sure, he made some sales, but he spent 86M in total including loan fees. That's not a drop in the bucket.

He signed the players he wanted to, Azzurri champions. We shall see what happens but it looks like he's going for primarily Italian players.

I think a lot of it had to do with not being in the CL. But eventually when the money is right we'll sign them, and if we get a bigger budget than last summer we can afford higher transfer fees and wages. Lets just hope we hit 4th place to make things easier on us this upcoming transfer window.

I know Marotta its not Moggi but he has done better than Secco for sure .

Everyone criticisze him , but not money enough i think .
Bonucci,Krasic,Quag,Aquaman was nice sign in's , if we get CL spot and thouse "moeny from stadium" will come im sure he will buy World Class player (NON Italian :p) .

He made mistake with : Giovinco , and Martinez . Also Trezeguet was mistake i would preffer to have here trez instead of Amauri&Iaq .

I really hope we buy 2 fullbacks , Pastore its good but extremly overrated . Neymar also is good but overrated .

I would sign Pastore for something about 30-35 mln E , Neymar for something about 25 mln E .

I hope we will sign one of them (Pastore/Neymar) + Fullbacks (Beck,LB) + Quagliarela/Matri(Or Both) + Aquaman .

Get rid of : Amauri,Grygera,Grosso,Traore,Motta,Martinez and maybe : Sissoko&Pepe .

Im not sure for Pepe i really like him but 10 mln E it much money .

There is going to be/was money else we couldn't have signed Matri for that amount. I won't believe it that Caglari let Matri go on a loan with the risk of losing a vital player for 6 months for a shady 2M if they didn't had any guarantee that they were going to get the 17M.

Marotta seems to pay slightly high for his signings. Pepe 10M, Martinez 12M, Matri 17M, Motta buyout clause 5M, Quag 15M (30 year old)

Quite pricey tbh.

But I'm still not understanding this. We signed 86M worth of players, provided we use the options on all players minus Motta. So in reality, we did sign players with high transfer fees (12M Martinez, 16M Aquilani, 17M Quag, 10M Pepe, et cetera). So it just doesn't make sense to say that once we spend money we'll sign better players... because we already did spend money.

And since most of the fees are being paid in installments, they've spent money in multiple windows.

Why €86m and why certain players? Lots of guessing.

Our total committed spend so far has been ~€60m, plus sales of ~€45m.
I threw out Motta because he has been a disaster. We already spent a decent amount on loan fees as part of the investment, so I'm pretty sure we'll sign Aquilani and Pepe. Quag's injury might be a stumbling block but he's done too well for Marotta not to sign. If this pans out, 86M.

OK but that takes 2011/12 budgeting into account, even if you consider that all spread payments are over several years, because you have to account for them at some time.

Right, which will come from expected revenue streams. I know that this is a common accounting practice. But whether you pay up front, or pay later while reducing the budget whatever amount, you're still paying the same amount in the end. All this means is we have less to use in that other quarter's budget.

Either way, we will be paying 86M Euros for the players we signed this season if this scenario plays out. Accounting gimmicks can't hide cash flow and contracts, eventually it catches up to you.
