Balotelli should talk less, says Ronaldo

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo believes Mario Balotelli should talk less and concentrate on playing football.

Ronaldo had a slanging match with Balotelli during a match between Manchester United and Inter in the Champions League two years ago.

Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, he said: “Mario is a good player, but he has to talk less and play more.

“In the Premier League, if you know how to listen and want to learn, you can become a great player. I hope he does it.

“But today he puts too many other things in front of his profession and that isn't alright.”

The former Ballon d'Or winner also revealed that he was close to joining Juventus at the beginning of the decade.

“Yes, there really was [interest]. Some years afterwards there was another Italian club who came forward in a more concrete manner and we almost signed. Then everything went up in smoke at the last minute.”

Asked to reveal the name of the Italian team, he said: “I can't possibly say.”

Cristiano Ronaldo tells Gazzetta he nearly signed for an Italian club few yrs ago, but "it all fell apart at the last moment". Won't say who

Ronaldo says Juventus had enquired in 2001-02, but not that serious. It was "different Italian club" who nearly signed him a few years later

just another proof we never sign big name players, a fact some can not grasp
