I don't get that whole thing with attitude either. Is Cassano's attitude really that bad that they don't even want to sign him up for free? We could even have done just like Milan did and put an option in his contract that allows us to fire him if he causes problems. Not attempting to sign a talent like Cassano who's worth more than 15m for free when we needed him and ending up getting a guy like Luca Toni is beyond me.

He wasn't need at the time though as we had Quags and DP.

Im sure bot Marotta and Del Neri would take him with arms wide open if he was available now.

oh god this window ended up being one that would look good if we maintain the status quo. Replace amauri n Quag before thinking about the other departments

That is certainly prudent. But if you have a manager who knows how to handle troublemakers, you can take a chance at times. Many good players command a high level of arrogance in the game today anyway.

Was it in a direct respond to a Cassano question?
hmmmm I know FI sometimes puts a spin on their quotes and tries to make news where there isn't any but IIRC then yes he was responding to a journalist's question about whether Juventus had ruled out Cassano as a January acquisition.

What Marotta made clear was that Cassano is not a part of Juve's plans. Google "Marotta Cassano No" and you will find many articles about it from December 13th.

I don't think Marotta ever said that Cassano being a troublemaker is what makes him undesirable by Juve, but he clearly said that we're not interested in Cassano.
Now why we weren't interested, I don't know. Some here think that it was in order to mentain the good relations with Garrone, but I don't see how buying Cassano would have troubled that relationship, since Galliani and Garrone both said how happy they were that the situation was resolved in everyone's favor.

I don't believe that. If he wanted us so much that he'd reduce his wages, then he could wait 6 months. Plus, hiim and his agent had to know we couldn't even sign him in January so there was no choice for him.

I was aware of that and that's why I was questioning that quote as a respond to Cassano's arrival to Juventus.
