He cost Atleti like 12m Euros and not proven in Serie A.. Also just come back from his hard long injury in Depor, it still risky.. People here will moan about him if Marotta sign him and he is injured again and become the next of Jorge Andrade case
Best LB in La Liga basically, good enough for you? And this price skepticism when it comes to defenders, like they arent worth it, is the reasonmanagement has gotten away with us basically NOT investing in our defence for almost 4 years, except the tragically predictable case of Andrade (NOTHING like Filipe getting one injury), and now Bonnucci, we have fully ignored investing in the defence with stopgap BS free transfer and loan signings. Then we wonder wtf goes wrong.

While we piss away money with average/mediocre players in midfield and attack positions. Most of the nearly 100m spent since then and which we will be obligated to keep spending for next season too, are for players that barely elevate the quality of the team.

But nooo, lets keep spending mediocrity for 10-15m all the time in the other parts of the team (I will be kind enough to not include the 22m and 24m spent on our current two brazilians), and keep questionning improvements in defence, because they would "cost too much, and have fun getting stomped by no name Polish teams because we have Legro, De Ceglie and Grygera.

everybody keeps saying get good fullbacks, yet no one lists any names.

keep in mind the fullbacks first of all has to be defensively solid. him being good going forward is just a bonus because we now play with wingers.

not a single person has listed names of good fullbacks that are realistic. reason obviously is that good fullbacks are hard to come by.

this is why i'd rather we sign a great winger and have both flanks able to pressure and stretch midfield of other teams.
There, but we are only looking out for Italians and the current crop sucks, bar a couple of them, and those two are so overrated, average team, like the new age Juve cant sign...
And yet we prefer mediocrity, as long as we keep the Italian percentage at 98%...

Aush, I just loled when I read in another thread that we have 22 scouts in Italy, and 3 in France, Holland and some other obvious country. I mean, FFS. is there a better way to illustrate the issue?

Though 22 scouts in Italy oughta find better shit then we have, even Palermo's fullbacks shits over ours. And they are a former player of ours and the other a former youth product of ours.

M.Sissoko and Cassano.
Dooz, sell Momo to Wolfsburg or Bordeaux or whatever and bring in Moussa. That would be ingenious. That guy is going to blow up, me and Fred agreed he's the best thing out of the Ligue since Essien...

Hahahahahahahah! That indeed is hilarious. Especially if you consider we fired all of our scouts out in South American very recently too.

There are tons more, but less realistic ones (in terms of chances of selling them/price range), or not so known etc). BUt bottomline is, there are ALOT and I mean ALOT of fullbacks that are better then someone like De Ceglie.

Ah, I will give my best. I haven't seen him that much to say that but I do like him and I think he's going to be great. As for Momo, if it comes to his sale, we should try Roma first. I think they'd bid eventually with Ranieri there.

About fullbacks; Cassani, Trémoulinas, van der Wiel

Srna, Beck, Fucile, Taiwo, Maxi Pereira? Some other possibilities? Haven't seen them play as much as I'd like to.
Cassani is average at best. One of the defenders that are decent at back but no brainer when it comes to attack and counter attacks. That type of a player in my books is a no no.
