Sneijder provided the touches and brains to Inter's attack. Even if he didn't have tons of the goals, his play was still crucial to their success in Serie A. Most of the play went through him. So to say that he isn't a difference maker is nonsense.

And yes, he's better than Diego.

We need a striker in January. Any striker. There's a good chance that if we randomly select a striker from a list of professional footballers, we'll end up with a better one than Amauri/Iaquinta.

I agree, wouldn't call it a rape though. Mourinho has one guy who does this in every team of his. He specifically asked for such a player last year.

You can have Aberdeen's Chris Maguire:

3 goals and 4 assists this season.

Can be Juve's for just £1.5m.

I was obviously joking (I even added a text in white :D). While the league's style can of course be decisive in some cases, generally I see no reason why shouldn't most of the quality players from EPL or La Liga not make it in serie A, and vice versa.

Zlatan's, Sneijder's, Kaka's, Cambiasso's and Samuel's failure in La Liga and their good/great performances for Italian teams is creating a wrong opinion that those players make it in Italy and failed in La Liga only because the Spanish league is much tougher.
Or Sheva in EPL.

The decision between a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 or even a 4-2-3-1 has to be made then. I got to admit, Pastore is perhaps as tempting as Cassano is right now.
This might be the most suited formation considering the midfielders we have.
Pastore will be awesome but his price is gonna be too much. Who do you think can be good on the left side of the 4-3-3?
