off topic but a lil bit historic....i know none of us regret not signing floro flores but the lil punk scored a crazy goal today and been on fire with genoa.
That is just a part of the problem. Let's say we sign F.F. and he does not perform. His contract with Juve would be sweet enough for him to prefer the bench rather than moving to a smaller club where he has to prove himself again. Now if you are a big team you have a huge pool of players wanting to join your squad, bonus-related contracts are seen more acceptable by players' agents(cause you could win something) so its easier to navigate.
In our case you need somebody that has the respect of the players. Moggi's mafia-related image and connections did just that. Players were willing to listen to his advise rather often. Now for example Amauri, for all his services towards Juventus, has outlived 4? coaches and (soon) 2 GM's ... he is still on our payroll, but at least looking good for Parma. The guy has no pressure on his back whatsoever, even if he goes back to Palermo he will milk everything out of our club without giving nothing tangible in return and feel great about it. Why? Cause pretty much every player we've got is the same. They shine somewhere, they flop here and a scape goat is born. And here lies the largest part of our problems. We have no backbone to compare whether Amouri, FF or the next guy with boots adds more to.
After this year only Chiellini is certain to stay, but you can't build your team around a central defender, he is just defending. They were even thinking of selling Buffon, so if anyone thinks they have a plan for this year he would be insane. My hopes are we would get Aguero/Pastore/Sanchez kind of players. Two at least and we have to make sure that they are the right one cause in their 4-5 year contracts they have to build a scudetto winning team.
