we have Melo, Buffon/Storari, Chiellini, Matri, krasic, as players who are definite starters in any team we could put out with this squad. thats 5 positions which are secure...even for the starting XI we need LB, RB, LW, Regista, big question mark over the SS (DP even older, quags potential uncertain after injury), CB also, as Bonucci's development remains in the larval stage. So 6 positions to make stronger, yet...we apparently may sell a player from a position we are fine with already, not just that, but also, our best player of the season.
This is WHY its so important that we bring in a manager who has total control over tactics, training and transfers. Perhaps marotta is thinking...'melo was great this season, he has high value, lets sell him while his stock is high'...whereas a DD, or a VG, or a ferguson, or mourinho, would be thinking 'melo has proven why we signed him for such a high price, he has come good, is settled here now, and i can rely upon him...thats one position in the team i need not worry about...hey beppe, come here...i dont give a fuk about the sale value of our best players, they are staying...now go find me two fullbacks, start proceedings to bring back giovinco, and organize the hunt for a speedy, skillfull left winger...move along then! chop cop, baldy!'.
this bullshit disconnection between manager and transfer manager is playing a huge part in our downfall.
