The situation for teams like Lazio and Palermo is completely different.

They can through these untested young guys into their team easily. But we are under to win every game, would Pastore have gotten a game when he first came to Italy in our team at that time? Would they cope with the pressure of having to go out and win each week?
While that's true about Lazio, in the summer I believed that Hernanes was good enough to start for nearly every side in the league. The fact they spent a reasonable sum on him shows that he is more than just a promising talented.

Much like how Ganso is good enough to start for a majority of clubs. Lazio did really good business, because sides like Barça and Milan were reported to be interested in Hernanes as well.

The whole point of scouting is to keep an eye on up & coming talents & to get them before other clubs coming in & drive up the players asking fee.
Maybe the South American clubs are learning. Lot of European clubs sign SA talents and then make a lot of profit by selling them to another club. Santos are probably trying to make that profit for themselves.

I think the chances of Juventus spending €30m+ on Neymar are incredibly slim. I think Lukaku is more realistic, and even then I don't see us going over €20m for him.

It's not like we are buying these players as starters straight off. Look at Peelan who bought Kaka, Pato.

The amount of disrespect too many of you spew on Luis Fabiano is downright pathetic. Its one thing to say 30 years old isnt long term enough, to making kneejerk retarded posts like puking or our trying to paint him out to be as untouchable crap striker ala Bogdani-Heskey mix :p

Being better than Amauri doesn't really say that much. Nah, he is a very good striker but he is likely going to cost 20mln+ and being 30 doesn't help either. I would like someone younger and already better then him.
