Bayern signed Ribery and they played UEFA cup that season. Tevez, Yaya and Silva joined City and they are playing in Europa league at this moment. All these players joined for a reason (actually 2 reasons, 1 of them is money) and the other reason is that the clubs they joined showed ambitions, a shown that they are going to improve.
It's one and the same, without money Man City have no 'ambition', and players aren't going there. As we don't have that money, we would have to do some convincing.

Juventus' board of directors are due to convene in Turin on May 11, with a reinvestment of €100 million in the offing, however senior figures at the club will have to decide whether to use the money to clear existing debts or to buy new players in the summer.

Tuttosport reports that the meeting will be used to plan a budget for the next financial year and to also discuss key matters within the club, including the future of under-fire coach Luigi Del Neri.

The Old Lady of Italian football has amassed €60 million of debt, partly caused by a downturn in performance on the pitch and also due to an absence from the Champions League.

The decision will impact upon the future of the playing staff, as Juve are unlikely to make the top four and qualification for next season's top tier of European football, meaning they will again miss out on the financial rewards that participation brings.

The club have underperformed this season and an investment into the side would give them much more of a chance of playing a part in the race for the Scudetto title next season, and making it back into the Champions League.

Juventus are currently in 7th place in Serie A on 53 points, and with four games left face a battle to qualify for European football in any capacity next season.

Lazio and Juventus talk transfers

Lazio and Juventus will sit down in June to talk about the prospect of trading several players, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Claudio Lotito and Edy Reja had wished to sign Jorge Martinez from Catania last summer only to see Juventus steal the player from under their noses.

The Uruguayan winger hasn't settled in Turin and there are reports that he will be sold to Lazio at a loss once the season reaches its conclusion.

Lazio are also interested in opening discussions for Amauri, the Brazilian striker who has resurrected his career during a loan spell at Parma.

La Gazzetta understands Lazio made an inquiry in January, but Juventus drove a hard bargain, asking for part-ownership stakes in Mauro Zarate and Sergio Floccari.

Juventus are keen to come to the negotiating table, not least because they would like to sign Stephan Lichtsteiner and Stefan Radu.

The prospect of luring Hernanes away from the Stadio Olimpico would appear unlikely.

Oh please not Lichtsteiner...
Why not? From what I've seen of Lazio this year he and Radu are actually the main reason why Lazio has one of the best defenses in serie A, second only to Milan's. They covered excellently for the incompetence and some brainfarts of their CBs (although that Brazilian in CB also played some great matches)
The swiss' stamina also adds in attack too.

Honestly, I never rated the overhyped De Silvestri and when the Swiss guy took his place I wasn't impressed. To me two of them plus Behrami and Basta were/are overrated. I never liked his style and to me it looked like he's good in defense but nothing special up front and I don't like those fullbacks who can't create thread and leave some space for wingers. I like explosive flanks and he just look the opposite of that whenever I've seen him. Dunno, I might be wrong, but to me he's just a decent, semi-good player. I think there are better options on the market.
