Di Marzio explains: "If Mazzarri was to ask De Laurentiis of resignation, Juve would replace Delneri immediately. Juve doesn't want to buy him out. Mancini on the other hand is most likely candidate as City will look to replace him come summer."

He also mentioned that we and Inter are interested in Gabriel Appelt, but it seems like we have the upper hand. He'll become EU-player in short time.

As far as Bastos goes, we don't want to pay 15-16 mln for him, we are thinking somewhere around 12. Plan B for left wing is Andres Santos from Fener.

At last he said that Giuseppe Rossi's agents were in Barcelona today working out a deal.

    Montolivo & Pirlo :sergio:

Pirlo like backup would be ok , but why Montolivo ??!
Please dont waste money on him , better use that money for LB/RB :)

The one thing that the new nuisance kid said, that was actually very true is that a club should be looking to sign back-ups ONLY when their starting XI is high quality and settled. Pirlo wouldn't come to us though, as a backup, he still will want to be starting, and should be, if fit...but at juve??? I am unsure. It just seems very strange, when everyone in the world knows we are desperate for one quality LB, at least one quality RB, a quality LW...those MUST be the priorities of our mercato. Yes, I like the idea of a new brazilian wonderkid, especially if he has EU passport now or soon, a decent apology from Marotta for fucking up with Piazon...i also see the obvious need for the attack to be revamped....62 year old DP is out only flair and creativity, Matri our only decent prima punta...quags yes, i hope we keep him, but toni, amauri, iaquinta...all need to go...then there is the centre back problem...bonucci is STILL only now learning how to be a defender. perhaps we could shift him out, bring in someone experienced...then finally, a backup for aquilani would be useful, but why not bring back ekdal for such a job????

my point is...LB, RB, LW...are where the majority of our mercato should be focused. as they have been piss poor all season, other than a period of stability on the left by de ceglie, and a period of stability on the right supplied by an 18 year old natural centreback...(grosso, traore, Grygera, Motta...ALL must leave)

I wouldn't go that far. It's definitley an upgrade to the crap we currently deploy, but inferior to both Milanese giants. I don't really like Aquilani for that role. We need someone more active and dynamic.
