We weren't far from the first place before the winter break, so it's not impossible. It's just that Delneri has one way of play"Give up the center and then counter-attacks through the wings" Sometimes this works, especially against big teams who prefer to do battle in the middle, but we need more than that.We need a good coach who can adapt.DN's tactics are good but only for a mid-table team.
There is nothing I see, whether it be in the manager or squad, that says to me we could keep up Scudetto-worthy performances for most of the season. That requires a certain mentality that we clearly do not have; one that takes a while to build and stems from certain players.

With a good coach who can inspire the players and make them believe in themselves anything is possible.

Yeah I hate it when people use that argument.. I wouldn't mind Bastos, he's really good but I am expecting Hazard :)
Belgian national coach held him on the bench last two games, because of that argument.

its all about the balance.

our fullbacks dont give that balance, just watch how much work krasic has to pull off defensively to bring a bit of balance, and it usually isnt quite enough.

However, if this financial investment thing is true, and we get for example cissokho, beck and mascherano, we could field hazard and let him and krasic play much more offensive minded.

but those names probably are to optimistic

I really hope De Ceglie gets to play a few games before the season is over, if he can recapture the form he was showing before his injury, there may not be a need to sign a left-back.

Nicholas, how :donedeal: is this Beck deal in your opinion?
