Would be a fair mercato. Though I gotta be honest, I think Beck will be a little suspect in this league.

Not that big of a difference. Our main problem except for the obvious fullbacks is at the left side of the midfield and we need better strikers. With the imminent signings of Quag and Matri we're not going to invest much more in that position. Also the Bastos signing doesn't excite me that much.

We have a squad in our hand that could probably finish in 7th place two seasons in a row. That is not good at all and should tell us that the majority of the squad needs a change. I mean players like Melo, Marchisio, and Chiellini have been present through out those two season, maybe we should reevaluate their roles in the team? We could solve this problem in two ways, either do like Marotta did last season and bring in a lot of new players or just spending shit loads of money on new superstars. Obviously the first one didn't work out that great since we're as bad as we were last season so next step should be spending a lot of money on bringing in quality players. But I can totally understand if that wont happen since the club don't have that kind of money anymore.

If it's really going to be Masch, Beck, Bastos and a support striker ( a proper good one ), that'd be some nice business. A lot better than I expect us to actually do.

If all of these journalists are convinced that we'll sign Bastos, I just wonder how our left flank will look? If we hold onto Pepe does that mean Bastos will be deployed as a left back with Pepe ahead of him, or will De Ceglie be our starting LB with Bastos on the left wing?

As someone mentioned before, we'd be as well off just building red carpets down either wing for the new stadium, with 'right this way please' signs posted.

Pepe's tactical role doesn't change, he can still play on both flanks (actually his best games imo came on the right) or a bit further forward or back in emergencies, he's still a squad/rotation play no matter how you look at it. The only question is the price.
