Maybe, but maybe not. World Class player can change their positions and fit in perfectly. Expecting him to shine might be too much but there's nothing wrong in putting him there.

I do understand your point. I would like to see him on the wing though...maybe it would be just great for us.

Del Neri likes 4-4-2 and 4-3-3. Having Marchisio, Melo and Momo I highly doubt Del Neri thinks of using him as a CM again. And he even said he wouldn't formation just because of one player (Diego, and it was directed towards 4-2-3-1). It's why I think he could use him on the wing but he'd play much more offensive and that 4-4-2 could turn into 4-3-3 easily which would suit him more, where he can cut inside and do his job.

That would not be too bad I guess. I just would not want Diego tracking back same with Krasic(if we got him) that would make the lone Striker very isolated.

Not really. Inter players tracked back under Mourinho and they did great. Even Eto'o came down to the corner flag.

Everything is doable if you have the right coach. Which I sadly think we don't.

True, but he stated more then once that he wants to stay at Lille one more season so I am afraid we'll have to be patient until next summer, assuming he wants to join Juve that is.

As for our real formation, I think we're going to sell/give Giovinco and place Diego on the flank.

I like that. But im 100% sure Marchisio will play as a starter when fit..

Then again, when attacking it could easy turn in to a 4-2-3-1 with Diego(Vargas) and Krasic moving way up, while the SS(Diego) goes just behind the striker (Gilardino?)..

If we are to keep Diego(PLEASE) then id still say he would do better as a SS insted of a wing.. Thats what I think.

that would be nice. not perfect but nice. i remember before some years when zambrotta and neddy were on the team we were playing something like this. on papers it was a 4-4-2 but zambrotta ran to get forward on the left flank while neddy cut inside and went behind the strikers. if delneri can emulate something like this with diego and criscito it would be very nice.

The best formation..

I'd say its not only one forward, as many clubs who play 4-2-3-1 use SS or Forwards as Wingers.. or a SS under the Striker.. Something like this would rock !
