could we not convert diego to a cm?

he works hard and is not afraid to get stuck in challenges., plus his passing and creativity could really be used there. maybe convert him to a sort of boox to box midfielder?
I'm sorry for back-tracking here, but I would really like to see this in a 3-man midfield with Marchisio and Melo. If you put two true wingers up front like Giovinco on the left and someone on the right (and good fullbacks of course), I think it could work. He's played there for the national team, but they've got quality all around so I don't know if this is realistically transferrable.

I think he could do fine there. Doubt he'll be great in a 442, but maybe. But if someone like d'ago would be better, is there a point in doing it?

Pepe, Ziegler, and Cassani are not names that inspire confidence.

Why are we being linked with only Italian players anyway (with the exception of Vargas and that fake Aguero rumour)? There aren't that many good Italian players, and to be competitive again we must not limit ourselves and look beyond Serie A as well.
