Palombo is as limited as it can get.

No way he's more capable player than Poulsen.
This is an example of underrating, he is no Xavi but he is not a bad footballer, his shooting is speculative but he can also pass and run with the ball when he needs to, it's just that he often gets involved in all the niggly play because of his role.

not a necessity, but if we can offload some of our crappier players for him, then I don't mind at all.
Crappier players like whom? If he was to come he will replace either Melo, Sissoko, Marchisio or Poulsen. I find all 4 of them better or at least the same level of Palombo actually.

I think it's better to focus on other positions than be linked with such players.

If we can get Benzema in a deal like Samp got Cassano then that would be superb.. it would free up mega money for a striker and we could steer the cash to the midfield and defense.. :vinny:

what did CAPITANO mention, Poulsen + Almiron for Palombo? I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.

I guess that is the difference between us. We both have different opinions on Poulsen.

Why don't we use players like Almiron to reduce price of players we actually need and will improve us?

better all-round player than PouPou, is better offensively too.
Better than Pousen that played for us, maybe. But Poulsen doesn't suit us. He was much better before and that Poulsen is miles ahead of Palombo.

Replacing one decent/average CM with another is

He's an average midfielder and we're Juventus. That alone should mean skipping in on Palombo at all cost.

He can pass, wow. Like we're talking about nuclear physics.

If we're looking to buy a DM/CM then Palombo is not good enough. If we're planning to buy somebody at that position it has to be a regista and somebody who can offer a lot more than those limited players ala Palombo. We need somebody like Pizarro.

Settling down with Palombo only shows the mediocrity this club is trying to get and fans letting things go like "eh, he's decent". Well you know what, fuck decent. We are not Fiorentina.

Yes Mr Sarcasm, passing - something our midfielders struggled to do last season. Sissoko can't pass water, and Melo at times forgets which side he is playing for. Not that I'm saying he should replace them, but I do think he has more to his game than Poulsen. This position is really not a priority though, it's clear we need to look at other areas.

The sad thing is that he's only a decent passer. If he's better than Sissoko that doesn't make him a Xavi in the middle.

If we're planning to get a good passer (because it IS what we lack) and get Palombo, then we're in real trouble. Both club and Juve fans.

I wouldn't sign him as a passer, just as a vice-Poulsen, but anyway, other areas...

Cassani or Caceres (or other, realistically)?

But then giving Poulsen and Almiron would be too much for an average player. :)

- Cassani, not a bad player but he's not someone who I rate much. I like more dynamic fullbacks.

Caceres, well, I was not really convinced that he's worth all the money.

Instead of Palombo trade, I'd offer Pouslsen + some cash for Caceres. (But again I'd think twice).

Palombo is definitely a more capable player than Poulsen.
Fuck no he aint, under no circumstance has he ever looked like one of the better DMs in the bussiness, Poulsen DEFENITELY played in that level with Sevilla. Bossing Barca and Real midfields and so on, Palombo, tell me what he has bossed. He is a decent/ok DM, but FFS get a grip, reading this above, and the other dude saying way better then what we have, I have to ask myself if I'm in la la land or not.
