I'd imagine that realistically the best team we can get for next season would be:

Buffon
Caceres -- Kjaer -- Chiellini -- Criscito
Melo -- Marchisio
Di Maria/Hazard -- Diego -- Giovinco
Dzeko​

It's not that bad but again we'd need to hope that there wouldn't be too much injuries because the backup team doesn't look very good...

I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to Dutch players, but this guy is actually a beast and should be rather cheap.

And by the way, these 'realistic' teams look fine to me. A bit more attacking fullback on 1 side couldn't hurt, but I think Cáceres could do well going forward in a team that has some sort of defensive organization.

Actually Caceres did give some assists this year

I know, but he's been pretty limited going forward, but I think that had more to do with our lack of.. a defensive in general, than him not capable of making those runs. He's really fast, athletic and has decent technique. I think he could turn out to be a fine RB for us.
