Man, we did that because we had 70% of our players labeled AVERAGE across their face and we still have many.

Why would we spend 35mln+ on him and at least 4mln for his wages? There are many good players out there for much less. If our scouts aren't retarded then they know if Rodriguez has potential to be a top player. So why not go after him?
We'd spend like 6mln but we could buy 3 new defenders. Or if we want the other side, why not Hazard for let's say 15? That kid is crazy and he can be our Ronaldo.

If we get Di Maria imagine we have 20mln to spend. We buy one defender and one sub and yet again we're stuck with either Grygera or Grosso and we'll have Legro. Woopty fucking doo. There is barely an improvement.
We already have 2.5m+ wages for players who barely feature, so having a 4m paycheck for Di Maria isn't that much of a deal TBH, even for Juve.

We can't afford the risk Dooz, Rodriguez is playing at the damn Argentinian league this means he'll spend at least half the season adapting to Serie A and top flight football. While Di Maria, having played for Argentina (a big team) and Benfica( impressed on both domestic and European levels) is a guarantee IMO.

As for the cash, If we suppose we did in fact have those 80m for this Summer then we could go for Di Maria and Kolarov with the former costing us about 40m at max while the latter would come for a 20m (half of DC contract or even Palladinho would lower the price).

This means about another 20m to get a decent defender and for that role I see Kajer as our primary target and he could come with even less than that, and with having Ariaudo back from Calgiari and Legro on the bench we have a decent squad.

Why do people rate Marotta that highly? Except for Cassano and Pazzini, I don't see the fuss.

Whoever brought players like Kjaer, Hernandez, Cavani and Pastore to Palermo is good.

It depends who the coach is and how are we going to play. You should be aware that we need a regista in this team and that there are big chances of Trez leaving while we could offload Iaquinta.

There could be many moves and many holes to cover and it's not going to be easy. The way you said it is great, BUT for a team like Manchester, where they can replace only 2 players and make their team amazing. We cannot do that. Yet again we'd be stuck with Grygera in the starting XI. Di Maria - Diego ...and who would play on the right side? You should be aware that Camo could leave so we'd need at least 1 new player (if not 2) that can cover the right side but we'd have no money with those signings. Our strikers are weak and we'll go after one as well.

That is simply not possible.

Marino, the old Napoli transfer guru did great signings yet he was fired only because they didn't have a decent coach who could make all these good players shine together.

Look what Mazzari has done with those players. Lavezzi, Hamsik, Quariegla(or whatever the fuck he's called :D) and that Argentinian dude who fucked us at home.

I say we go for Marino to takeover Secco's ruins.

We should get Pietro Leonardi.
I think it is very diffenrent to be a scout for "smaller" teams,bc most players you get are going the chance of playing. Take Pastore and Hernandez, would they have gotten the chance to play as much in Juve, Inter and Milan - I don't think so.

I think we need ppl that a good a judging what kind of player a team needs, and good bargaining/coercing skills.

Smaller teams will always look better at getting talents than big teams on average, because they will get to play. I know that plenty exceptions exist Pato, Higuain, Messi - but in general I think there are som selection bias in this.

With respect to this transfer campaign I think we should fix the defense and then start to buy QUALITY.

Let's say we get Kjaer, Caceres and Kolarov/Tremoulinas and whatevet, then I would not mind spending the rest one big acquisition with a good coach and a plan for next year.

We should not buy players and hope for immediate succes next year, but buy quality and then it will come. Diego and Di Maria could be a fantastic base for a potent attack. We should get Candreva because he is so versatile and has been rather good.

That is what I want, Pazzini and likes no thank. They might be very good, but I doubt they are going to be GREAT, and that is what we need.

Its all assumptions the way I see it, we could even end up spending a ridiculous 20m this Summer ffs.

If the board is in fact considering returning this club to it's former glories then by all means they should spend around that 80m they were reported to be saving. While many of our key players shouldn't leave and here's the names of few of those who are speculated to leave and who should in fact stay: Candreva(he's the perfect candidate for that right side position you asked), Seba(the perfect backup/starter for any of those wingers positions), Caceres( he's gonna do good if we could just get him for less than 7m) and Trezi(no one can score more goals out of nothing like this guy :touched:).

Then bring the names I suggested Kajer, Di Maria and Kolarov. And sell the others we have ATM.
