Question: if Hamsik is so able to float from left to right and all across the midfield, why can't we buy another AMC that is class that is able to allow himself to be dangerous all across the mid and have him play next to Diego? It doesn't make sense that Diego should just be limited to the center and 2 wingers limited to each side, why not have another great player next to him even tho they play the same positions and allow them the freedom to move around and overlap?

You mean a 4-3-2-1 or similar?

It can be done, but it still needs other people to be running and creating space. It also still needs some really good attacking full backs or the game will still end up being predictable and stuck in the middle of the pitch.

Yes a 4321 more or less. That's what I was thinking as well and obviously the need for decent fullbacks would help. Thats why I don't understand why I got so much criticism for the Gourcuff wish. There is no reason why they can't work together. We have some good DMs that if everyone else could do their jobs properly that might allow the DMs to be able to focus on what they are good at.

I've always been against systems that are totally reliant on the fullbacks for width, so I can't say I'm hugely enamored at the prospect of another system that doesn't involve at least one winger.
