Assuming Italy loses its 4th CL spot, we have to finish in the top 3 next season to qualify for the 2011/2012 CL.

This could force our board to make important signings this summer even if we do not finish 4th, to increase the likelihood of a top 3 finish in the following serie a season.

I know, but I was just stating that even if we do miss out on the CL, the money still might be there this summer, contrary to what the media are telling us.

Blanc is all about balancing the budget sheet, but even he understands that without investment this summer Juventus will face a big struggle to finish in the top 3 next season.

Not finishing in the top 3 next season will have a bigger financial effect on Juventus than going a little in the red for this upcoming mercato to ensure we remain competitive.

They have done this b4. For example, the summer of 07 when we came out of serie b. We were in the red 20.8m in 2007/2008, but we secured a CL spot and the following year our balance sheet was fine again.
