Not to be posting like a madman here, but I've been beating my head into the table trying to think what would be the most efficient mercato we could possibly have whilst creating the strongest possible team...

Do we go back to 442 and get players to fill the roles we need?
Do we stick with 4231 or 4312 and do the same?

Either way I think we need to completely remodel the backline regardless of the formation we decide next year. That is one constant (mathematical term that means the only variable in the problem that never changes no matter how its written).

Buffon has what, 4 years left maybe 5? This summer we need to buy YOUNG stellar players for the backline to last us for the next 6-7 or more years. That way when its time to replace buffon we won't have to spend huge on a backline reinforcement because that foundation was already set in stone years before.

God knows we would save ourselves MILLIONS of dollars if we would just use Giovinco more.

So what do we do? What formation to do we pick? Do we pick one with 1 striker or 2? That decision alone will either save us millions or cost us millions. This is definitely a strange junction in our history. We are in limbo about what formation is best and what players to buy to fill roles that we don't even know what ones we want to fill. :sergio:

:edit: FML, I didn't even mention a new coach...or BOD...or medics.

Diego was bought and if he's here to stay then there is no doubt that we'll need to buy players who'll fit well in a formation which will suit Diego. That means no 4-4-2.

I want width, but maybe it's impossible unless we go for a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1.
