well really guys

12 for rafinha, possibly less for motta, 10 for ranocchia and 7 for criscito, plus sales for other players, thats 29 ml for 3 players. but then we really need a RW, either put trust in rossi or splash another 25 mil for someone like silva, depending or formation or for a 4-3-3 maybe rossi.

-rep for being silly
do you also want Buffon, Camo, and Manninger to retire too?

did you want Del Piero to retire in the last 2 season as well when he was dragging the team to win match after match?

what about Nedved who was the best player in the world when he was 31?

Or Thuram, Canna, and Ferrara before Calciopoli

do you understand how ridiculous you sound?

Age doesn't matter as long as the player is performing.
Spoken like a true king.
Like Giovinco was being traded out for Amauri, D'Agostino, Candreva, Diego, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Sissoko and Melo.

I think Pazzini would do very well for us.
I agree, he seems to have the positional sense down well. (Diego to replace Cassano for him might do well for Pazzini)
10ml and de ceglie and its a done deal.
DC seems to be the universal player everyone would take in a trade. We should use him for someone with a bit higher mark.
I'd rather us save the money, keep Trez, and Iaquinta, invest in a new young talent, and spend the money on getting s good right winger like Silva.
I'd love Silva, but surely we would say goodbye to Gio.
Pazzini for 20M Euros? No thank you. Might as well try to get Dzeko for 25M.

And folks, we are going to need another striker. There is NO sense in delaying the inevitable and pushing the issue to side. It makes more sense to start looking at our options now, potentially bringing someone in this summer, and have him work along with Trezeguet. Lets not wait until Trez or Del Piero retire to address this situation.
We should try to get Dzeko, like I mentioned if we inserted DC into the deal, perhaps they could use him. It seems like he is one of the universal young players that many teams would accept into the trade. Worth a shot for Dzeko.

IN:
Dzeko 25m
Criscito 7m
Rannocchia 12m
Ariaudo 0m

44m

Out:
DC 8m
Amauri 15m
Zebina 4m
Legro 4m

31m

_________
Difference of 13m. Not that bad.

~We keep IQ, Trez (new contract) and Gio to replace DP.
~I am sure we could use Zalayeta or Lanzafame in deals to bring prices down.

:EDIT: forgot about a RB :sergio:

I think we should sign Dzeko, let one of Trez or IQ leave and wait till DP retires to get the 3rd striker. That way with the 4231 we will have 3 good stikers, and in the event of a crisis, Gio can play up top if all 3 drop with injuries.

Haha I don't want Pazzini, and at least I can accept that a lot of Italian players are crap, but not Gila/Pazzini. At least you like Cassano. And De Rossi?

With Pazzini, in a 4-2-3-1, I think his movement would work and he'd score. Not that he's my first option, I like the bigger player like Trezeguet. Let's just keep €25m and renew his contract :touched:

Edit: Or we could sell Amauri to fund for the shock pursuit of Villa :weee:
I'm not Italian hater :p I liked many old and I like some new players but Pazzini is surely not one of them. I'd rate Gilardino higher but I still wouldn't go after him.

De Rossi? Great player, I'd welcome him any day.

I hope we avoid the centre forward / striker position in the transfer market. They're the most overvalued position in soccer transfers.

It's much more complicated Andy.
What you say is true, of course, but I fear our transfer budget might not allow us to get quality up-front, or if we do, we will sacrifice the rest of our team.

A lot will depend on our finishing position in serie A (CL or not), on our sales and on how much Melo's purchase in 2009 influenced our 2010 summer mercato.

We obviously need a new striker. It's even more obvious that we need more than 1 defender and depending on our tactics, a regista.

That is probably obvious to our board too, but while trying to get all those players, I fear we might witness something very similar to the previous mercatos.
Since we can't buy quality, expensive, for all these positions, I fear that our board will either splash the money for a striker and then go for free transfers or cheap solutions for the defense and midfield, or they'll buy new players for all these positions, who won't be of top quality but will be more like Almiron or Grosso.

I had a very good reason to start that thread where I suggested to start saying goodbye to our legends. Because if we don't, not only that they'll be taking most of our wages budget (while failing to perform as we want them to) but it might happen all of them to leave at once and let our directors wondering how to replace them in one summer.

To summarize, we're fucked. Not only that we'll need to find replacements for the weak links in our team, but in the next two summers we'll have to find replacements for our legends. Even with more capable directors, I doubt it's doable in the next summer or two. On the contrary, I fear that while trying to solve the problem they'll make it even worse by buying mediocre players due to the need of new players and lack of funds.
Very good one Alen.
Basically , the calciopoli came at the worst possible moment for us (period of global economic crisis) and the period when we need to change our big names.

To get fans like you go all teary eyed and frustrated, meaning react. Thats the pupose of the media, make people react to their shit any way possible.

And they found a pretty easy way with Juve related news for the last 2 years, any player Juve are interested in or imagined to be interested in, they put in that Gio will be sacrificed to get a rise out of Juventini (their targeted audience). Simplistic BS that should been found out eons ago, but apparently not for all.

This does not mean it was on the table for even second in all of these so called "deals" in the last 2 years. Media inventions or at times wishful clubs, but nothing more.
From  to :) I changed my face after reading your post.

I didnt have time to read all the news properly, are we planning to sell Amauri to an EPL team, in order to buy the young and ITalien Pazzini??

I though Bettega would change smth and we would cease making such moronic moves...:sergio:

At least we wont buy any more DMs and CMs...

Incesting on more attackers is just idiotic, we did invested on Iaquinta and Amauri when they were not priorities, only to avoid investing on attackers, AFTER DP or Treze retires.
In the mean time we still have a bunch of youngsters waiting for a chance.
Wasting some wooping 20mil for one more average forward, would be such a waste of resources...

All just rumours, Cron.

Nothing to suggest, as far as I can see, there is any real interest from Man City for Amauri or from Juve for Pazzini.

Bah, I'm so stupid. I wrote all that and failed to mention my main point which is:
- Sacrifice the striking department in the summer. Do not buy a new striker and go with what we have. Instead, invest everything in new defense and do not buy mediocre midfielders or attackers just for the sake of buying.
- In 2011, with the defense and most of the midfield set, invest in a great attacker.
This is what I have in mind as well. Instead of trying to plug many holes at once, we should focus on 1 area and get it right.

Even with a modest budget of €20m (we have spent more every summer since serie b) + sales we can strengthen the defence.

The following summer in 2011, we look for attackers. Attacking players will be very expensive, but by this time the stadium will have been completed and the board can bank on a substantial boost in revenue, meaning we should have a huge budget to spend on replacements for ADP and Trez.
