He would be great as far as backup RW. I always see him as versatile midfielder and he can score.
About Drenthe, i thought it can be true if Marotta wants him. I don't mind him as backup LW also. But first we need to sign our first team RW and LW
Pepe, Drenthe, Krasic, Vargas.. all are tireless winger that can run much on the flanks. The difference is Krasic and Vargas has technical ability too..
About Motta in several of dream formation here. Why do several people here wants him as our RB. It's too risky. Cassani even Lichsteiner will be much better as they are play regularly for their team. Motta will be just good as backup too

I really like Drenthe. If we can get him and get him in form he would be a monster on our left wing. I think he could be like what happened to Sneijder or Robben. I would honestly rather get Drenthe for like 8 Million then buy Vargas for 30 million.
If we can keep Giovinco then we can have really good left wingers. Saving money in one position lets us spend in another and Drenthe is not a player who lacks quality like Pepe. The fact we can probably get him for less money then alot of the shit players we are linked with makes it a great buy.
And he would be perfect in 442 .. not as a LB but as a Left winger who has a high work rate (like Nedved)

Personally i rate Drenthe higher than Vargas as a LW. I remember watching the U21 Euros few years ago with Drenthe being chosen as the best player in that tournament.
And yes i think he will surprise many people just like Sneijder this season with Inter. If we can get him for a bargain then am 100% backing this deal.
