It depends on our budget. If the talk of 80m spread over 3 seasons is true, we simply cannot afford to spend +30m on a striker when were lacking quality in areas of the team which are much weaker to begin with.
Nice post, his strength against Cassano in the first leg of Samp-Palermo is a good example. Quite surprising that there are a few with major doubts on Kjær, I thought I was the only one.
I am also have the feeling Kjaer can be like Amauri. Rate so highly and do great job for Palermo, but not so good with us. I remember watched Amauri with Palermo, sometimes he can have one or two wonderful matches but then he will just mediocre when he got isolated upfront because he is an attacker that sometimes don't have a clue, just do a lot of battle hold the ball from the defender but with the bad touches or bad finishing touch, also his goal scoring ratio is not so high. But just because media talk a lot about him and rated him, he looks good in front of us..
That's why we shouldn't bound ourself to just look for Kjaer, there is another great CB. It's like we should have look Diego Milito after Zaragoza relegated back then rather then bought Amauri.. Diego Milito scoring stats is better than Amauri back then
Ranocchia has half a season of experience in serie a and now he's been injured for for the second half so I hardly think we should consider him for a starter next season and he'd cost 10-15 mill. Criscito would be good and should not be too expensive, IMO one we should get without hesitation. Caceres to me has been far from impressive and Barca are looking for 11-12 mill so not enough quality for price ticket, if we can loan him again that's all good. I haven't seen too much of rodriguez but people comparing bringing back Iago or buying James seem to forget that the other is a key player for argentinian champs and the other is key player for a youth team. If James is as good as hyped certainly he would add something to our team and the prices being mentioned don't seem to be through the roof so definately someone to look at. Finally you'd still spend half of our budget to get a striker and in Dzekos case someone who still needs service, watching our current ability to serve our strikers, I wouldn't be too surprised if Dzeko came and scored 12 to 15 goals next season.
Rannocchia wouldn't cost that much because he only played half a season, and his injury probably brought his price down. I'd take him over the whole lot. I wish we could forget about age for a change, take a damn risk already. In his first "half season" he was magnificent.
Dzeko could come and bring goals, a lot of them. Fuck it, bring ibra back.
Caceres could come at a lower price. Its called negotiating.
I like Vargas, provided we don't use him at lb. However, that is a poor deal. After 1 season of consistent playing time, Seba's value could potential skyrocket.
It was bound to happen, wasn't it? I wish we'd gotten Jovetic though cause Giovinco is going to be much better than Vargas after a full season with Viola and in the end we're still going to be the losers in this transfer. Hopefully we'll still own 50% of Seba's contract or we can put a option in the contract where we have the right to sign him back. Seba is a Juve guy thru and thru, he'll be back.
We should avoid dealing with Fiorentina further at least until Secco is replaced.
And we should avoid spending 30M on a striker who will need service because when he doesn't get any the fans will turn on him, his confidence will sink and we might end up selling him for peanuts.
We should build the team properly first and then find a WC striker.
