Drenthe for new-look Juve?
Sunday 4 April, 2010
Real Madrid outcast Royston Drenthe is set for a summer switch to Juventus, according to reports.
The former Feyenoord man has been a largely peripheral figure ever since he signed for the Spanish giants, and is hardly a favourite with the Bernabeu faithful.

And with Madrid’s colossal outlay last summer likely to continue in the coming months, Drenthe’s days are looking numbered in the famous white shirt.

However, the versatile Dutchman should have no shortage of suitors, with the Bianconeri, Milan and Fiorentina all reportedly keen on his signature.

Juve are the team most heavily linked with the 22-year-old, which is unsurprising considering their need for a left-back and their poor season.

But with the team’s managerial situation uncertain and Champions League qualification increasingly unlikely, predicting the Old Lady’s summer transfer business is tricky.

Drenthe’s contract runs out in June 2012 and he would command a transfer fee of around €7m.

We're not getting to anything in this, I quit
Ya, well Redknapp agrees with me and thats enough. He rarely ever plays him at fullback, i could bring you match reports of the last 10-11 games and i bet we'd only find Bale playing there when Assou Ekotto is injured, but never played there when he's fit.

For LB, I would like Cissokho if possible. For me, he is the complete LB that available at this time, He strong physically, fast, can support attack well and can defend. But after what Lyon has spent for him last summer, it will be at least 20m to buy him

Next option will be Kolarov and Tremoullinas based on the price we can get for them
If we wanted Cissokho, which I was calling for, we should have got him last summer. Now it's too late. Aulas would ask 30M Euros for him.
Should have done that last summer as you said. Fuck, should've done Lovren too. Ugh.

For the pessimist.

20m € budget, failed CL...

Buffon, Manninger, Bonussi.
Caceres, Zebina, Salihamidzic.
Tasci, Legrottaglie.
Chiellini, Otamendi.
Adriano, De Ceglie.
Marchisio, Sissoko.
Felipe Melo, Guarente.
Afellay, Palladino, Iago/Esposito/other youngster.
Diego, Del Piero.
Candreva, Rodriguez.
Kuranyi, Amauri.

sooory!
I like Otamendi. I was also thinking about failing to get CL spaces...

Buffon, Manninger, Pinsoglio
Cáceres, Zebina, Grygera
Bonucci, Chiellini, Ariaudo, Legrottaglie
Criscito, De Ceglie
Felipe Melo, Sissoko, Marchisio, Ekdal, Marrone
Sánchez, Rodríguez, Giovinco, Iago, Rossi, Camoranesi
Diego, Del Piero
Cavani, Trezeguet, Immobile

Full back positions were hard to choose, I don't want to buy anyone. Just promote guys? ehhh.

REALLY? I didn't see him at Lyon yet, he was awesome at Zagreb...
Well he's still young, he's still a bit too raw probably. He played yesterday against Rennes, i didn't watch the game so i don't know how well he did, but his last game against St Etienne, he was really horrible, time and time again he would be exposed and was directly responsible for St Etienne's goal, he cost Lyon 2 points in that game.

btw, yesterday Bordeaux lost at home to Nancy, they were completely butt raped by Nancy's #10 Issar Dia, check out the goals man, Bordeaux have been going downhill for more than a month now.

Why would he play him there when he's better offensively?! All I said is that Bale ain't that bad in a LB position and he can defend better than any of you guys rated him to be.

He doesn't defend well, if he does, theres no reason why he would play a player like Ekotto at leftback, the guy is just above average if there was any semi decent fullback at Tottenham he would have ousted Ekotto of the team.

Damn, that too against the traditional rivals lol. Didn't Gomis score that game, or am I confusing it? Woah, I skeptical wether they can overcome the deficit against Lyon. Issar Dia I know of yes. How are Yannis Tafer and Timothée Kolodziejczak?

He plays well in the LM position so until Lennon is back and Modric returns to his LM position then Im sure you'll see Bale as a LB where he played twice in the FA cup matched against fulham when Kranjcar had the LM position covered and Modric had the RM.

No Lisandro scored in that game.

The Ligue has become really exciting now. Lyon are on top equal in points with high flying Montpellier and one point above Bordeaux and Auxerre, 3 points over Lille and 4 points ahead of Marseille.

Bordeaux have two games in hand though, Auxerre are yet to play today and Marseille are yet to play today, plus they have two other games in hand.

I haven't seen Tafer in a long time, they rarely play him these days. But he's looked like a real talent whenever i've seen him

I very much doubt it, he'll be back to the bench when Tottenhams players are back from injury

Yes, the Ligue is greatness. And I know, I can see Aulas making a lot of cash on him in the future.
