Drenthe for new-look Juve?
Sunday 4 April, 2010
Real Madrid outcast Royston Drenthe is set for a summer switch to Juventus, according to reports.
The former Feyenoord man has been a largely peripheral figure ever since he signed for the Spanish giants, and is hardly a favourite with the Bernabeu faithful.
And with Madrid’s colossal outlay last summer likely to continue in the coming months, Drenthe’s days are looking numbered in the famous white shirt.
However, the versatile Dutchman should have no shortage of suitors, with the Bianconeri, Milan and Fiorentina all reportedly keen on his signature.
Juve are the team most heavily linked with the 22-year-old, which is unsurprising considering their need for a left-back and their poor season.
But with the team’s managerial situation uncertain and Champions League qualification increasingly unlikely, predicting the Old Lady’s summer transfer business is tricky.
Drenthe’s contract runs out in June 2012 and he would command a transfer fee of around €7m.
