Momo's passing is shite but I stand by my opinion that Mascherano's isn't good either.

Well he isn't a "good" passer thats for sure. He won't awe you with his passing ability, but then again its not his job, he gets the simple things right and thats all he's asked to do. On his day, he is easily the best defensive mid in the world imo.

If the midfield was functioning well, and players made themselves available, he wouldn't have to make any difficult passes and his deficiencies would be masked. Thats the whole idea of having a team, isn't it?

The problem is he even screws up simple passes, stuff that any run-of-the-mill midfielder is expected to complete, and usually does. It's not like I'm asking him to spray the ball 30 yards around the pitch. So even if the team was functioning he'd still have to make those same sort of passes.

I used to love Momo but IMO it's time to rejuvenate our midfield and play a more modern game. I want to see better two-way players in there, more of a total football sort of style. The passing is so atrocious that not even one signing would save us there, and with Momo we have a really weak link in possession. And in case you missed my thread, I believe that possession is the best way to protect the defense, not destroyers.

Edit: Osman the liar is at it again. I'm not for selling Momo unless we can get a great price for him. He really needs to have either a poty break or sit down in the corner.

Yep. That figure is pure bs. He's easily worth double that amount but there's absolutely no reason to sell him. The replacements are terrible.
