I'm going to try to speak in terms that the management will understand with this post:

- William Gallas - Free transfer

We need defenders!!!! Anyone know of any other good defenders whose contracts will be up at the end of the year?

Yeah, let's continue with signing free defenders and splash the cash on strikers and midfielders
Thats not what I meant at all. I was just being realistic, because they wont spend money on the defence. Its been a problem for 2 years and they havent, so why will they now.

Our problem is not just defense.. But it still priority though.

We need CM that can pass and play the tempo, attacking midfield especially a winger, and a SS..

Now i won't mind if Bayern really interested in Momo like in the rumor before we against them. Swap + money deal will be nice.. and Hertha Berlin is bottom at Bundesliga, we can look for Kacar there. How does he play this season? So we will get Ribery, Kacar, James Rodriguez or Hazard.. The other transfer funds go for RB (Caceres or better get the pure RB), CB (Tasci, Douglas, Kjaer, Mexes, Ciani), LB (Cissokho, Tremoulinas, Kolarov)

if teh last few years have tought us anything,it is that buying a 30-something player is a false economy, they are on high wages, become injury prone with age, lose pace, have a smaller appetite for success than their eager, younger counterparts and it is impossible to build the foundations of a top team when you are constantly having to replace older players every couple of years

when you get them for free instead of paying ridiculous money its not too bad. Every team in the world knows we desperately need defenders so that is clearly going to push their prices through the roof. He may be 32 years old and a very short term fix but at least its a fix. He's better than Legro and Canna, and if Canna retires like we expect were not exactly deep on options, and we're not going to pay big money for more than 1 centre back considering the fragility of all the other areas in our team.

Its fascinating that on 8 defenders over the course of many seasons we spend more on one player last summer than the sum of all the defenders that make up our worst part of this team.

It shows us why were in the predicament we find ourselves in. The one area that really needed investment that was neglected. You have to build from the back....
