Hard to believe anyone would pay that amount for Acquafresca tbh.
It wasn't really paid.
Usually in these swap deals, both teams agree to present the prices of certain players higher than they are in reality. I don't quite understand it but from what I read and what i've been told, it's some kind of money laundering.

So instead of presenting Milito's price as 18m eur and Acquafresca's as 8m eur, Inter and Genoa agreed on 25m for Milito and 15 for Acquafresca. The difference is still 10m.

There was a similar case with Inter and Milan. Many of you probably remember this case because it happened soon after Calciopoli and there were predictions that both Milan and Inter will get punished for that, but in the end they changed the laws or something and nothing happened.

I don't remember all the details but Inter sold some unknown youngsters to Milan for unbelievable prices (some unknown youngsters for 1,2,3 millions of euro) and right away Milan sells these players back to Inter for the same price. One of these kids went public with this shady deal and the drama around it lasted for 1-2 weeks, but then it was forgotten.
I don't understand the mechanism, but it's obviously some kind of money laundering.

Oh and I see that Hamisik's price is ~30mln.

Inter links are coming already.
:howler: How much could we have gotten him for at Bari?
The only thing we will be paying for is watching Hamsik lead the Inter midfield for the next 8 years with Cambiasso and Sneijder right next to to him.:drill:

In the meantime we will still be trying to get Melo to step his game up and negotiating deals for Tiago/Poulsen.

I thought crespo was a part of the Motta/Millito deal?

Another reason they can attract players: Mourinho.

We need his equal to eliminate that effect.

Luckily Juve is Juve, and I do think we are in more people and players hearts than inter is. But I might be a bit subjective here...

Yes, Secco rejected the chance to sign him. Another stoooopid transfer was Kolarov initally being brought in for £200,000.

Džeko was first sold to Teplice for some 50.000 €, then to Wolsburg for 3-4 mil € and now the want 3o mil € for him. Thats how you do good business, and if Teplice have a sell on clause they'll be rich! :D

I agree with you there.. Juventus is and always be Juventus, even though we are going through a difficult period.. I actually believe that TRUE players will always be grateful and honored to be part of Juventus transfer plans.. in fact, I think only Juventus and AC Milan (in Italy) can have that effect on TRUE players.. merde is just about money and since they're going through a "positive" period it seems to be an easier way to get recognized and fat pockets..

Look at Man City.. without the money injection do you really think all those players would go there?

Brescia, not Bari.

Napoli got him from Brescia for €5.5 mil.

What a deal that was. :(

:wallbang:

Look, I get what Lawnchair was saying yesterday to an extent. But Dzeko, Hamsik, Kolarov just to name a few was some damn good business buys by the respective clubs that took a chance on them. I know we need stars to get us back to where we came from. It isn't going to happen next year and likely the year after that as well. What we can start though is improving our scouting. And lets not kid ourselves here, there are a load of stars (Dzeko, Hazard, Suarez, Krasic, Kjaer, Bonucci, etc etc) that we "could" have found.

We really need to improve our scouting and learn to take a risk. I know a lot of you out there seem to think that I would field a team of youngsters and unproven talent(Osman, Deneb:p). That's not the case at all. My idea of what we should be doing and should HAVE been doing since promotion is incorporating our youth with the stars we do have. Not only did we take our youth for granted but we also took for granted what our stars had to offer these youngsters. Nedved for example. Gio could have been his understudy had we had a board with a backbone to tell the coach that he needs to use these gems we have. That hasn't happened. Combine a weak/clueless board with a weak/clueless coach and that is a horrible combination for youngsters.

Back to what I was saying....I don't want to play a team full of youngsters and unproven "hopefulls" but what I do want is to learn to take a risk of playing younger players either from our own academy or ones that we find through scouting. There is no reason why we can do that and still be successful. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here and its painful that some here can't see how important youth is. And equally how important a strong scouting network is to a long term future.

History doesn't count for much really these days. "Unless" we're succesfull in Europe and Italy then less and less players will actually want to move here (specially foreigners).

Compare a club like Ajax with clubs like Chelsea, arsenal and city (history wise) then you'll see a clear advantage for Ajax over these clubs (29 dutch league + 4 champions league + a Uefa cup) but ask any player nowadays if he wants to play to Ajax or any of these clubs 99.99% IMO of players will choose one of these English clubs.

So history and trophies doesn't count much today if the club continues to fail to impress in Europe.

True but it is hard to compare the dutch league with the power of the italian league.

You never know Hustini, the dutch league at a certain time was a very respected league, And look at it now !!

The state of top Italian clubs (milan, Juve and probably Roma) are not encouraging. Inter will continue to fail in europe (thats a certain) then you're left with nothing.

Even though mid-table clubs in serie A have improved in recent years (napoli, genoa, fiorentina...) yet its the top clubs that will always attract the big numbers (marketing, T.V revenues....) if these clubs continue to fail in Europe then expect less and less of Europe's elite players to end up here.
