You and Juve are both wrong.

Youalmost always want to keep youngsters, Juve almost always want to sent them out on loan for a bit.

As is almost always the case, the middle ground is what is needed, and to give the impression real thought is put into each case as to what is best for each youngster.

I still think the lack of a reserve league in Italy is a big problem and makes it harder to develop players without loaning them.
What is the middle ground then? A reserve league? Why can't be loan players to serie B with an option to bring them back when necessary or we see an opportunity for them?

And for what its worth, regardless of what you think I only see a handful of youth that I'd like to see at least get some chances. You seem to think I want each and every youth to make it to the first team.

When was the last time a loan worked in our favor? Only one I might partially agree with is Marchisio.

Well obviously as Marchisio has done well for himself since he came back you could judge it like that, but a loan is just to develope a player, and more than Marchisio have benefitted in that sense. Whether a player gets a chance, or is good enough to play at Juve afterwards is another thing.

The middle ground is to look at each individual player and decide what will help them develop.

For some that will be a loan to play football, for some that will be to stay at Juve and learn from experienced players.

The reserve league makes things much easier, because it gives a stepping stone between youth and senior football, allowing regular games, without needing a loan.

Every player who appears even vaguely promising seems to warrant a chance in the first team in your opinion, and you usually complain when they get loaned.

Hard to say.

So few players who come through are actually any good, that it is hard to say whether loans have been good, bad or indifferent.

I think Juve have made relatively few bad decisions on young players.

@red: Marrone, Ekdal, Ariaudo, F.rossi, gio, pasquato, and marchisio. Oh and Iago. Those are the ones that I got upset over...there are still over 20 players in our youth that I don't really care about.

Don't exaggerate. I know I can get carried away with loans and youth but don't say or hint that its every youth that looks promising. Every one in our primavera technically is "promising" otherwise they wouldn't even be in it in the first place.

I agree with the reserve league tho, that would be much more helpful.

what are you on about? you just listed entire primavera team as promising?

which big teams besides Barca and Arsenal produce youth talent at a consistent basis?

Lion, way to charge in with no point to prove. I named them because it has been over the course of 3 season...not just this seasons.

Go find Villa and keep wishing he comes here.
