Wow well done for reading my entire argument and not just picking up on one piece of it, you're very bright.
So your argument is that we should go for cheaper and unproven strikers so that we can improve our other areas. Because other than that there is no way someone would want Berg instead of Villa.

Cheaper,Younger,Unproven strikers yes.

'Unproven' is such a dirty word

BTW- Berg can score from the DP Zone, with both feet, can dribble and can head well too.

He doesn't lack composure either, he scored after about 1min on his debut.

i agree, we have 4 experienced strikers who have 3/4 good years ahead of them, so IMO we need to buy a young gun. First of all i want to c Immobile in action. anyway, a striker is not a priority atm.

Berg is talented, that is certain, but he's hardly the striker you make him out to be. I won't rule him out yet, but at least wait until he becomes a starter at Hamburg and actually performs for Sweden before you raise him to the skies.

Oh my god you really are that stubborn.

David Villa will take up our whole transfer budget, that would mean Grosso, Grygera mostly and Canna would be in our back four, and you're saying that we'd win titles?? Seriously consider every aspect of this.

Berg is pure quality, I didn't say he's better than Villa atm, but he'll be very very good. Age does matter, it matters a lot. Maybe you should take a look at AC Milan and tell me age doesn't matter.

So I'm clueless eh? Quotes your examples to back that please...

I'd Like you to show me one instance such as this where I've been comprehensively prooven wrong, but you can't because you and everybody else here that has dismissed my analysis/transfer/socio-political arguments have never 'won'. Grow up you stupid fanboy and understand that reasoned discussion will always win out against personal insults from those that lack the will and capacity to carry it out.

If you wan't to debate a point on anything football related go ahead, because people like you and Fred just slink off after a few post due to you being unable to keep yourself from denigrating to purile, personal insults.

Of course we can't actually "prove" you are wrong in this instance. I can't predict the future, what we can do is rationally analyze the situation using common sense. According to the Swedish members here, Berg will never be as good as David Villa. Seeing that he barely starts for Hamburg and Sweden i'm sure you haven't seen enough of him to argue with them.

I can take any youngster from the Ligue and just say that you can't prove that X player will become better than Messi and will be a better future investment, you can't prove me wrong because theres no such thing as "proving" someone wrong in a football discussion.

Berg is far away from what you make him.
He really struggles in Hamburg and he only gets playing time right now because he is the only striker who's not injured.
Now seeing him performing like that in Bundesliga - which some of you think is shit - imagine him in Italy

So In essence you can insult me without providing reasoned discussion and counterpoints.
That's ok is it???
My argument isn't with your preference of players it's with the crass and purile manner with which you were/are behaving.

I have seen 5 hamburg games and watch all of swedens games in the U-21s (may have missed one) What really impressed me was his game agaisnt Belarus. I'm not going to say that that's a vaild cross section of his performances to judge his ability on at all, I was proferring him over Villa because I'm being realistic. I gave factors such as Longevity,Cost,Team Needs and what did you do?
Insult me.

Maybe prove was too strong a word to use, but you have not responded to anything else in my post about that, yet again.

I never said I rated Berg over Villa, let's clarify that point.

Lion:This is the General Discussion thread also, you moron

you're quite thick you know that? you missed the point entirely.

this conversation is over.
I believe your point was that Villa was a 'wishlist' player to be attained by Juve.
It was introduced as a solid move that should be made, I was we should sign him, not I wish we could.

I'm clearly smarter than you, but that's besides the point I've little time for douchebags like you.

The thing is Berg is not even that much of a player. Niklas Bendtner that everybody(including myself) makes fun of, is actually a better prospect.

So basically saying something like you'd rather Niklas Bendtner over David Villa because of x reason, is almost the same thing.

And anyone who prefers Niklas to Villa for whatever reason is an idiot and deserves to be called out as one.

I don't know you and its hard to judge who is smart and who is not in an internet forum. But after the ridiculously BD-like posts you made in this thread, it would be hard to argue that you are smart at all.

No one would say no to a player like villa but i'd agree with IrishZebra's argument that we can't afford the guy and its not smart to buy the guy right now(from a financial POV).

It would be unreallistic to spend 40-50 mil euros on someone like him (thats probably the club's whole transfer budget) yet there are many holes in this team that we should work on allready.

Clubs like Barca can afford to buy Zlatan for that crazy fee that they've paid because there team is allready complete and all what they need is that extra quality that players like Zlatan have.

Juve have a pretty limited budget so they need to work pretty smart in the market. I don't know about Berg but signing young players is the right thing to do ATM.
