    De Laurentiis slams Lavezzi
    Thursday 23 July, 2009
Far from being the new Maradona, Ezequiel Lavezzi is 'inconsistent' and unworthy of a pay rise, according to Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Lavezzi left for his holidays before the end of the season, kicking up a stink about not being paid what he deserves amid interest from Liverpool and Juventus.

'El Pocho' claimed Napoli director of sport Pierpaolo Marino had promised him a lucrative contract extension, which never materialised.

De Laurentiis met Lavezzi yesterday for clear the air talks but the meeting did not go well.

“Our transfer campaign has been done with coherence. We are equipped even to do without Lavezzi,” De Laurentiis said.

“Lavezzi would like to review his financial position but the thing is, it's not possible because he didn't get us into the Champions League or the Europa League, so what does he want?

“Sport has to have an educational and exemplary image so what image would it give people if these values came to be betrayed? Lavezzi scored 7 goals last season, we hoped he would score 27,” De Laurentiis raged.

“He is an inconsistent player. He is not the new Maradona and his contribution doesn't help the team. For the moment, we have not made any mistakes. If an actor were to behave like this I would eat him alive.

“I want the best from my players. From today onwards I will not tolerate any slyness,” De Laurentiis concluded.

Well if he sucks that bad then here's Almiron and 5m.

Almiron....the guy is a joke. 5m plus him would be hilarious if it worked. Then watch Ez score 27 goals with us:D

Seriously, I wonder if this will make our board consider him...even now perhaps? More likely winter or summer I'm guessing. But I'm not good at guessing:frown:

    NAPOLI: LAVEZZI
'El Pocho' Lavezzi è sul mercato, dopo le dure parole pronunciate giovedì dal presidente del Napoli De Laurentiis. Si cercano acquirenti. A questo proposito spunta l'idea di uno scambio con Borriello del Milan.

    Sportmediaset

He is transfer listed, man I wish we would go after him, Milan could also be interested, a swap with Borriello

the only defender that will be arriving is Caceres and then our transfer campaign of players coming in will be closed.

If Trez leaves then theres a chance we will buy someone to replace him and Lavezzi would be on the top of my list, plus he's got a left foot which none of our attackers have which will bring something different to our attacking lineup

We do need new full backs but its very unlikely to happen this transfer season, there have been offers for some of our defenders but Secco has turned them down which means they have confidence in what we got :scared:
