Lille midfielder Michel Bastos has shrugged off speculation linking him with Bayern Munich and insisted he is happy at the Ligue 1 club.

The Brazilian has impressed for the northern outfit since joining them from Atletico Paranaense in 2006.

It has been reported his form has caught the eye of several European big guns with Bayern leading the chase for the 25-year-old, but Bastos insists he is happy at Lille for now.

"I've just extended my contract (until 2012) and aim to stay here as long as possible," he said.

"My head is in Lille and nowhere else.

"I like to enjoy my game and that's what I do in Lille. I am respected by all the coaches and the players.

"I am a football fanatic and I won't go somewhere else to sit on the bench. I know that I can play a lot here. It's no use going elsewhere not to play."

Bastos refused to rule out a move at some point, however, if he felt it was in the best interests of the club.

He added: "If it's a good deal for Lille and for me anything is possible, but I certainly won't fight to leave."

I guess he'll only leave for a high transfer fee and a guaranteed starting spot-if only we'd give him that opportunity :p I'd rather us sign Bastos than Malouda.

Check out his goal against Lyon in the league last week, pure greatness. His general performance was good too, skinning Clerc a number of times and getting those powerful swerving crosses in the box. I love this guy.

Malouda would be a good and inexpensive... backup for Giovinco. I'm for, but it's unlikely though, as our management denied any interest in Malouda few weeks ago.
I don't really consider £11m inexpensive, for cheaper it might be a good deal.

Yeah! I know! Great performance... again!
Im keen on Malouda,im pretty sure we could turn his career around.
At the right price, sure..
if we get Malouda after all of those Ribery,Silva,Diego,Cassano rumours, fans will not react well.
True, but we can't always get what we ask for I suppose.
Its better than being jerked off with high profile names & eventually signing another DM.
I actually think they're realising how good Marchisio is so I highly doubt they'd make that mistake again, but you never know..
this bastos is that left footed guy whose video was posted earlier??????
Yes sir.

That's right, I meant our budget is limited and he's still twice cheaper than the likes of Silva and if I were to choose, I'd like to see Giovinco with Malouda as his backup on the left and a purchase of Rafinha than to see Silva on the left with Grygera on the right...

So you are fed up of all the foreigners coming over here and taking British jobs?

I read The Times and The P & J (local paper).
