The last round of matches before Christmas was a good one for the Bianconeri lads out on loan. There were many goals over the weekend and for once the lion’s share came in the Serie A.
One of the players who put himself in the spotlight was Ciro Immobile, scoring a lovely goal at the San Siro and nearly earning a prestigious victory for his Genoa against Inter.
There was holiday joy for Sorensen as the Danish defender, who continues to become more important to Pioli’s back line, opened the scoring in the derby against Parma. But it was a derby that ended badly and did not allow the Rossoblù to continue their winning streak after the two victories against Napoli; after Gabbiadini’s goal in the league, Pasquato found the net in the Coppa Italia.
Luca Castiglia scored once again in the Serie B. After his brace two weeks ago against Livorno, the midfielder also scored in the 3-3 draw between his Vicenza side and Modena. Then there were holiday celebrations for Boakye and Chibsah’s Sassuolo; they head into the Christmas break in first place after a dominating first half of the season.
In the Lega Pro, Matteo Liviero is once again making waves. The flank midfielder from Veneto has made further strides towards a complete recovery and started in Perugia’s home win against Paganese.
