Reason is that there are some idiots who only can think constructively through destructive actions. Because you know what he's like and know better than to be provoked by an online comment, but others may not ... Some things you can joke about but other things, like this, people are bound to get offended by it and that could be dangerous.

ANYWAY. Not referring to Persians or this thread per se. I'm just saying (not only this forum) is that it has become somewhat of a norm to put comments and insults as a joke, or pointlessly with no purpose or meaning at all. Most of us know not to take it seriously and just laugh along, but there's a bigger picture to it, some people in this world and their country/race have suffered tremendous racial bias and whatnots so they might not take it as heartily because it hits something close to the heart, maybe something painful. On one hand you could tell them to lighten up, on the other it kinda tells you what world we're reduced to when people have resorted to such comments as an idea of a joke.

Well, but that's the whole system. It's basic economics. Whether it be rumor or fact, either will drive up prices no matter what. The speculators are what they are... speculators. They "speculate" the price of oil in contracts months or years down the road. They just do their job in my opinion.

With the huge increase in demand from India and China, the price was always going to rise anyway.
