Oh man, I remember the roots... I actually saw them live in Richmond, VA when I was in college back in 96 or 97.

They had a smash hit "What they do" back then, have you heard it?

i can listen to it over and over .... i know they're comin to Boston in May but i don't think i'm gonna see them just b/c of that one song
never even heard of " what they do" maybe i'll download it

It came out a while ago and even in its time it didn't get a widespread airplay. The was from the Roots' first album I think.

You should download and listen to it... it's a lose R&B with non-agressive, casual male hip-hop lyrics.

    There are quite a few nice bands out there. For example, this band "C-Block". I think that these guys are from the UK, because their albums were never released in the States. To me this is the best hip-hop band ever. They have this "eurodance" flavour to their music.

    Have you heard of them, Dj Juve?

    Jurassic 5 is fantatstic, and the Roots are just Gods of hip hop.

    Blackalicious is also another hip-hop group that is amazing, as is Dilated peoples. This is hip hop in its truest form, where they don't talk about bling-bling and hoes all the time, or how many diamonds are in their pinky ring.

    DJ, the name of the latest Roots album is called "Phroenology"

    The Seed 2.0 is one of the songs on there, another good song on it is called "Break you off", with Musiq Soulchild.

    I wish we had a store which sells US releases down in Baku. A lot of fresh hip-hop bands don't release in Europe :down:

    We don't even have access to MTV USA
