When I used to play as a child Nicole, I was a defender, and Goddy Izilien (one of the best talent scouts in Nigeria) used to say this:

As a defender, better to kick the ball anywhere than let the attacker get it and score.

Of course if the defender is being pressurived then of course, but I talking about when Juve were going to attack, all they were doing was playing "long-balls" up the field, totally cutting out Juve's best part (midfield)

I would, frankly so what if your team had injured players? You have...Buffon...Pessoto?...Canna...Thuram...Zambrotta...Camoraneo...Blasi...???...Nedved...Del Piero/Oliviera...Zaleyeta (he played 90 mins  )

And your saying that, that team could give a better performance then that??? It was absolutely crap, there was nothing in that game that suggest Juve deserve to be the Serie A champs...

Canna and Thuram are meant to be world-class, yet all they ever do is kick a ball long? So, does that mean when they leave Juve just before they retire they are going to play for the "long-ball" specialists Bolton???

Cannavaro and Thuram do what they are supposed to do maginificently. What do you wnt, for them to dribble half the field and score from 40 meters?

They defend, thats their job. If the midfield actually opened up and some players actually moved a bit to get the ball maybe they wouldnt have to send those long balls up.

No, but I expect them to at least have the ability to take a ball to the half-way line, like most top-class centre-backs, Nesta, Terry, Ferdinand, Samuel, Lucio all these players can...now maybe it is Capello's tactics (wouldnt surprise me), but I dont know, so all I can say from what I have seen they cant, thus meaning that they are in my opinion overrated.
