It’s been a dream start to the year so far for Marco Baroni’s Primavera side. A 100% record in the championship has extended the lead over Fiorentina in the table, while a place has also been booked in the Coppa Italia final against Napoli. But now, the Primavera are gearing up for a Tuscan-style February.
Ahead of the Viareggio Cup, which will be played between Monday 11 and Monday 25 February, Baroni’s outfit first have to play two championship games. Both at Chisola, both against Tuscan line ups, but both very different clashes in terms of league position. Tomorrow, it’s first against last and then next week, it’s the big one against second placed Fiorentina.
Tomorrow’s encounter with Grosseto begins at 2.30pm. The Bianconeri are striving for their 11th win in a row but will have to go one better than the draw obtained in this season’s first meeting of the sides.
