first of all, the only dream team was in 1992 in barcelona. another thing is that they alreasy lost some matches, 2002 iirc world cup in indianapolis, usa were only 6th, losing 3 or 4 matches, and the team was also made out of nba players. this was the first match when a team made out of nba players lost in olympics, usa already lost twice in the olympics before, 1988 and some time before as well, both times to ussr team but in it was supposedly amateur team, from ncaa players ()david robinson icluded ). and usa also lost before the olympics in a friendly with italy.

third thing, usa wont win the gold, i cant see them getting through pas spain, argentina or serbia. shit, they wont even beat lithuania, who for that matter WILL win the gold.

said that all i have to say that god, i hate basketball

All the US teams since 1992 have been dream teams. They call them that because there are NBA players involved, not because of Jordan or Magic in 92.

Look at Atalanta in 96 for example, you had Stockton, Malone, Payton I think, barkley, Robinson, etc.

I'm not sure about the current one tho, maybe they're just called USA team now that they've lost in the WC. Anyways, I still think they'll win, but barely. They've got too much depth and individual quality not to win.
