Dmitrov was 2-0 up but has just had to retire, his right pec went pop. Big shame for him.

Sinner doesn't really show any emotion but he looks a little embarrassed maybe. He can't win the title playing like that.

Novak does it again. How many times have we seen this playbook? Give the first set to the young opponent. Make him believe and have hope, give him something to lose ... And then destroy him.

Tough for Dimitrov. He couldn't even lift his arm to shake the hand of the umpire. Unbelievably cruel ending.

Fantastic win for Sinner! Ultimately this win is good for tennis. It had been hard to call it a rivalry the last year or so with how lopsided the results were.

The major turnaround today was Sinner's starting to come much more aggressively to the net after 1st set, to which Alcaraz & team didn't respond.

Forza Jannik!

I think Alcaraz is a great personality and can see why he is such a favourite. Sinner is very different, he's quieter and more restrained, almost robotic at times. Stereotypical Tyrolean.

If Sinner wasn't Italian I wouldn't be as keen to support him in these coin flip games with Alcaraz. I think the Spanish have been spoiled enough over the past 20 years having Rafa Nadal to support. Alcaraz will win many more trophies, maybe more than Sinner, but it should be a good rivalry for the next 10+ years. It'd also be nice to see if Jack Draper can become something of an Andy Murray and nick a GS here and there, but he has serious work to do. There are a few potential genuine challengers in that 18-23 bracket, but the scary thing is that the current big two are still only at the high end of that age range.
