Why?

It's very simple to just lock a thread that doesn't suit you.

And ok, let them lock this thread, but they should at least have balls to unlock the mod thread and allow others to criticize some of their decisions.
why? er, because it started out as discussion on Abel Xavier, and went OT probably 5 or so pages into that into the typical off-season Islam "discussion" thread, which fair enough, we were all bored since Juve wasn't playing, so that went on for a while...and now, hey, it's the "We want Seven back   " thread, even though the mods have made it perfectly clear that he will not be unbanned...or did you not realise that the first 6 billion times they have stated that already?

as for the unlocking of the Mod thread, that's their decision...if they won't do it, you can always PM them.

Ok, that thread is rightfully locked.

I won't lock it (yet :D). Still, for the record, I don't like the idea of any threads here on the forums focusing discussions on individuals who log in here -- whether they be members, mods, etc.

So hopefully this is more about issues, concerns, preferences, than about individuals. Otherwise I will have no problem knotting this up. :D

I'll tell you what I mean....I'll even give you an example about us.

I admit too many times us(Mods) did/do act like pricks and deserve warnings from time to time, this no one from us can deny because we are not better than the rest. But the difference is that we do immediately recognize this and try to behave without daily provocations.
I won't buy it. I have never seen Burke changing his attitude. We have accepted him like that. Sure we can do that about Andries.

Never say never, and If some of the mods are getting stubborn it's because some members(the ones asking for Andries back) are not being justified and are blaming a single Mod for this or two for this.
Now it's getting really funny. You mean the mods know that Andries should/could be unbanned yet the refuse to do it because some members are bashing them unfairly? And I thought our mods didn't take "these internet forums" seriously.

Well, how can this work if it's not about individuals?
Personal threads naturally turn into personal attacks (if not by all, then at least by some) and other people-obsessed topics, which really aren't appropriate for anyone subjected to them.

As for even the concept of a poll -- and then what? :andyandbarcelona:

We made everybody a mod once here once not too long ago, and look how great that turned out. Power to the people. Yay. I don't see the point other than navel-gazing.

Before messing around with polls, is it not necessary to find out if the Mods will pay any attention to the outcome?

Historically, the place hasn't exactly been a democracy.

    Ok.
But Hoori made a good point in the other thread and I think she deserves a reply.
Burke keeps making fun of Muslims, Juve, Religion, keeps provoking on purpose all the fucking time, creates double accounts, doesn't even care about Juve, but we accepted him as such, most of us love him the way he is and we don't even want him to change, but he's not getting banned while Seven makes fun of Muslims and religion, keeps provoking on purpose (and gets provoked, unlike Burke), creates double accounts, CARES about Juve and gets his info from here, but we aks him to change and he gets a permanent ban.

I think Hoori deserves an explanation from the mod team why is one of them a moderator and the other one is permanently banned?

It's easy Swag. I am reasonable, Hoori is reasonable. If you give us a good explanation, we'll be smart enough not to mention it anymore.

I don't like to get deep into this but I'll tell you the difference between Burke and Seven.

Burke - Ask how many members are disturbed/feel insulted with his attitude? You can really ask this question.

Seven - How many members are disturbed and felt insulted with his attitude?

Please Hoori, don't analyze things I never said. I never said the Mods refuse to unban Seven because some members are bashing us unfairly. I said or meant that this will not help. If anything it will make some of them more stubborn.

It's up to Andries to be more clear and obvious. He has sent a PM to some Mods one week ago I guess it showed nothing positive.

He knows that I'll be the first one to open a new thread in the Mod section concerning his come back but he needs to get over some things and let it go. And I'm talking about the things he got banned for.
