If they wanted to make DC look like a legit champ, they should have given Silva some sleeping pills and waited to have this fight when he was 45 yo.

Seriously, anyone buying DC being "hugely disappointed" for not having to lose his title to Jones? Even he doesn't believe he stands a chance vs JBJ.

A lot of belts changing waists in UFC lately. UFC needs a dominant champion in upper divisions.

In less than a year (since November 2015):

WBM = Rousy -> Holm -> Tates -> Nunes

BM = Dillashaw -> Cruz

FW = Aldo -> McGregor

LW = Dos Anjos -> Alvarez

MW = Weidman -> Rockhold -> Bisping

HW = Velasquez -> Werdum -> Miocic

DJ is the only dominant champion in the least stacked division, Lawler is not dominating his Welterweight opponents and DC is only a champion because Jon Jones is a bum.

    That's why the UFC is so successful

    they are consistently putting cards up with meaningful fights (title or qualification) along with an endless pipeline of great talented fighters. Some say that not all the fighters are all that great who get a shot at a belt which is true. But those fighters typically get weeded out in the octagon which can quickly end any debate on a fighters credentials.

    Agreed.

    Though, they have to come up with a way to fix the way all these fighters pulling off few days before big fights. Like maybe start putting a stand in fighter for every title or main event fight they announce. A top 5-7 who's worthy of fighting for the belt with at least a two-months training camp.

    This was certainly an anomaly and I'm sure UFC and all involved are going to make sure this never happens again. Bones really fucked EVERYONE over. Fans, fighters, the UFC, advertisers, sponsors, media, etc..

    Especially bad bc that it happened on 200.
