yea in fact he is a very good defender...just needs more confidence as he has had a tough time with injuries and some poor performances for newcastle

Boumsong is statistically our best defender so far in Serie B.

And we don´t know if he isn´t good enough for Serie A.

If he´s good for France NT, maybe he is good enough for Serie A clashes.

Boumsong is reminiscent of Zebina for me.
Great physical attributes but at times just has those lapses in concentration. And once that has happened, it takes him some time to get his mentality and confidance at the right level.

Juve coaches were successful in Coaching Zebina IMO, his Juve days were far less stupid than his Roma days. I hope the same can happen to Boumsong.

    :agree:
confidence is an important factor for a defender, the mistakes harm some defender's confidence. Some have the overall confidence to just pick themselves up( like Nesta, i remember one derby game when he was at lazio, and Sir Alex Ferguson was in the stands, in that game he was owned by Montella and two goals were directly his fault) but in the next game it was like nothing happend and he put on a great performance.
The other kind is the opposite, so Boumsong will need to build his confidence day by day until he can reach a level where the small things dont effect him anymore.

By what source? Also, I don't believe in statistics to determine facts in sports. It's all too complex and too dependant on luck to be catched in numbers.

If Paolo Montero agrees to join us I will give him a contract till he become 47 and it would be a better idea than Boumsong...

I cann't choose between him or Legro for the prize of worst deffender ever to wear a Binconerri shirt.

Boumsong is like Van Buyten and Ismael they play in the premiership, move and then become much better players.:agree:
Van Buyten and Ismael didn´t play in Premiership.

And I disagree with most of the members that Boumsong is such a crap. They are still judging him by his performances in Newcastle.

I've never seen him in Newcastle shirt TBH while I've seen most of Juve games this season so my conclusion depned on his recnet performance with JUVE.

Boumsong was very impressive against Scotland and looked better than Thuram in that game. He has improved heaps since he was at rangers but I would probably look a good centre half if I had Ciro Ferrara coaching me!

I still want to give Boumer a chance to settle in. He's had moments of solid play. But unfortunately his recent play has been like his initial play with us: out of position, terrible clearances, gets burned, occasionally muffs simple exchanges with his teammates...
